Horde Fortress... locked room

Post by Holly »

I cleared out the horde fortress, but there's one room there that my Rogue can't unlock.

Anyone know how to unlock it?

Where is it, and what message do you get when you try to have the rogue pick the lock? Does it just say: "Failure," or does it give you a message like: "The mechanism that operates this lock cannot be opened by normal means, and may be warded against simple spells" - ?

I'm foggy about that part of the game ... it was so long ago! :o But maybe you can try a knock spell if your rogue repeatedly fails to open it.

It says Lock Pick failed.
It's inside the fortress, at the top left of the screen.

if you've killed guthma and his cronies and rescued barston, you've performed the two required elements inside the fortress. A lock pick failed means your rogue can't pick the lock.

Try a knock or a bash with one of your stronger party members.

Damn...

I've left that area, and presumably can't get back for a while, at least till I fix the airship...

Will I be able to eventually return there?

Is there anything extremely important in there?

Thanks

No. you didn't miss anything. a scroll or two perhaps, a magic quiver of this or magic score of bolts of that. nothing critical.

if you did the two things from my spoiler above, you did what was required and obviiously you must've since you've moved on.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
