Can't seem to start TDD

Post by Rob-hin »

I've d/led the darkest day (1,5 hour, I love adsl!)

But when I start a new game, it loads Shadows of Amn.(Beiing in a cage, Irenicus ect.)

Am I doeing something wrong? I just created a new character, and have done a minimal instal (DVD player beiing a pain in the #$%^)
I do get the TDD logo in the menu and the new kitt choices (vamp hunter etc.).

Is this the actual TDD intro or is it an error?

Thanx,
Rob-hin

You should have a TDD button on your desktop. Click that, rather than SoA's button.

I used the TDD button :( ... I think, I'll check!
(Back in a minute)
...
(Back)

Just checked, and it happend again, the game just loaded SoA (What is strange since I do get the TDD options).

The game still needs the SoA cd to run.
Also it was the intention to instal TDD in the SoA directory right?

Er, yeah. Hmm. You *should* see a screen after loading with the TDD logo at the center, though it resembles SoA in all other respects. Did you restart the computer after loading? And did you remove Baldurdash's bugfixes before installing TDD?

DAMN!!!!! #@$%^& second time I have to type this thanx to an error!

Here i go again...(short version)

Logo - Got it
Restart - did it
Patches - none, only on my old BG2 instal

Here's the story:

I uninstalled SoA and ToB, then I hear about TDD.
Try to reinstal, "your CREAnim.bif is corrupt, contract yourdealer"

Finaly got it installed, I did nothing different, but I had to use min install, 630 mb.

Used the upgrade to 1.01 and try to play... you know the rest. :(

Ps.
Don't know if it's strang but the desktop of TDD shortcut uses the same SoA exe file.
It also has the same icon.

@Rob-hin - how to fool a minimum install to believe it is a max install...from [url="http://www.bioware.com"]www.bioware.com[/url] BG2 known issues...

1. Do a Minimum install.

2. Edit your "baldur.ini" file. Change the line "Install Type=1" to "Install Type=3". Also, you will need to edit the [Alias] section. Make the following changes where [BG2] is the location of your BG2 install

[Alias]
HD0=[BG2]
CD1=[BG2]\CD1
CD2=[BG2]\CD2
CD3=[BG2]\CD3
CD4=[BG2]\CD4

3. Copy the following directories (and all their contents) from the BG2 CDs to your BG2 install folder, where [cddrive] is the letter of your CD-ROM drive and [BG2] is the location of your BG2 install

CD2
[cddrive]\CD2 ===> [BG2]\CD2

CD3
[cddrive]\CD3 ===> [BG2]\CD3

CD4
[cddrive]\CD4 ===> [BG2]\CD4

You now have a Full install.

Exactly what Garnet Til said, just play through it ad u shouldnt ven have to worry about the install stuff
It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.

just because I got no ****,
I'll shave my legs and wear a bra,
I'll even cut my p**** off for you."

Now that's a love poem if I ever heard one.
