Guess I´ll forget about the cleric levels and take 5 levels of fighter then...

I have also been thinking about what weapons should I use. I´m absolutely going to use short bow but I have no idea what melee weapon should I pick...to hit clay golems I must have a blunt weapon but are there really that many golems? Staff is familiar to spellcasters and that´s why I find it too...normal. Mace is not an option. When it comes to other weapons I really like the scimitar. I would choose it right away but are there enough magical scimitars in ID2? In BG2 there are hardly any and the few that exist aren´t too magnificient. From a roleplaying view I´m trying to choose between a staff and a scimitar.

There are a lot more scimitars in IWD2 than there have been in other IE games, plus it falls under the large sword proficiency catagory. So, you could use long swords too if you needed. Given that fact, it is probably a more versatile option. I just looked through the staff itm files in the game and dind't find anything too impressive. One staff summons undead 3 times/day, but is only +1 or 2 and a -2 charisma. It was just a quick look, so I might have missed some. I think there were 2 or 3 flesh/clay golems in the game, almost all golems in game are iron.

what about a Paladin?

Would a paladin be a good character for soloing? I'm considering it, because I just don't want to control and keep track of 6 different characters. I might possibly go with as many as 3, but I'd love to try it solo also.

The only bad thing about human is, (as I found out with a bunch of human fighters) they have no resistance at all to magical attacks.

All of my research for soloing IWDII indicates sorcerer is practically the ONLY successful choice.

Memo to Mianna, I would really try to persuade you to mace rather than staff. There is several mace of disruptions and it is very valuable in the Ice Temple Chapter two, Battle Squares Arena.

To Lizzt, I heard that a cleric solo adventure went pretty well. It happons to be my favorite class though I have not tried personally.

I'll make mine Targos!!!!

I have started with a Drow male rogue/wizard. I decided to add a wild elf female sorcerer. I'm considering dualling her in bard for healing spells.

I ought to make a classic Drizzt party though:
Drow male wizard/ranger
Dwarf fighter
Human barbarian
Halfling rogue
