I've just started playing again after being away for the summer and I currently have installed (latest versions after patch):
Baldurdash Fix Pack
Ascension (Weidu version)
Kelsey (SoA & ToB)
Tashia
Solaufein
Ease of Use (w/o cut scenes)
Item Upgrade
Improved Illych
Improved Thief Stronghold
Valen
I haven't had any problems so far -- it's pretty stable and quite fun. Haven't tried Darkest Day so cannot recommend, but IMHO the ones above would make it worthwhile and challenging to play again (& again & again).
