confusion kills me

Post by jonschneider »

Hey, does anyone have advice on how to counteract the spell "confusion." 4 of my 6 party members have "dispell magic" memorized, but confusion still seems to get the best of me more often than not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a level 5 priest spell called "Chaotic Commands" which protects from suggestion, charm, domination, command, sleep, confusion and all other such spells and lasts for one turn per level of caster. ;)

Confusion can be problematic. You don't want to waste your 5 level cleric spells only for that. The trick is to never let ennemy mages throw the spell in the first place. Have your mages take down defensive protection spells if need be, throw as many maagic missiles as you got and concentrate all your fighters on the ennemy mages. Ranged attacks works great since you start hitting right away and have a good rate of fire. Also, don't forget Insect Plague if you have a druid. Throw the spell on a nearby fighter insted of on the mage directly, should he go invisible. I've only had to use Chaotic Command when fighting Mind Flayers.

Thanx both of ya. I guess you're right Astafas....just gotta get back to the basics. Always take out the spell casters as fast as possible! :D Sometimes you just need a reminder for the simplest things

Don't forget Lilarcor. He can be gotten incredibly early in the game, too. So if you have a warrior that can wield two handed swords (Minsc will do) give him Lilarcor and you're set.

Potions of Clarity also prevent confusion, and some other things too.

That's a bug. Taking advantage of that is cheesier than beating up enemies from a distance with a Wizard Eye and some Skeleton Warriors.
