Discrimination?!

I have an orc warrior (custom-made for melee fighting only), and he's about lvl 30 with sneak and security in the 70's. Out of boredom I wanted to join the Thieves guild, as I am already the guild master of the other two, and I got something like "You do not meet our requirements, ORC!" Is that RACIAL discrimination or what?!

No, my character is a Nord and I got "We have requirements and you do not meet them, Nord."

You must have done something to brass off the Thieves' Guild earlier on, perhaps one of the Fighters' Guild quests.

Possible cause

How did you retrieve Sottilde's code book?

I killed her but was already a member of the Thieves guild (and I made her attack me).

If you took her out, Skink et. al. probably are holding a grudge.

I'm pretty sure I just got good rep with her by bribing... I was lvl 5 and had 5 in speechcraft, so I couldnt intimidate her, and she's still alive... I'm still confused!

@LeO: .. If you check the "requirements" listed in the dialogue box, You will see the traits they are looking for. If you are not high enough in the required attributs and skills you will get that response. Beef up those skills and attributes and then try again. when they are high enough you will have no problem.. My guess is that as an Orc you need to work no you "sneek" and "security"..Hope that helps

the race may also have nothing to do with it, some NPCs do just call you nord, orc, breton...whatever......
