Where can I sell "fenced goods"?

Post by VonDondu »

As the subject header says, where can I sell "fenced goods"? All of the merchants I have talked to say they won't buy stolen goods. (There's probably at least one merchant out there who I haven't talked to yet.)

Thanks in advance!

as far as i could discover, sigil is quite picky about the goods they buy. i never found a single merchant, no matter the plane they lived upon, to buy stolen goods. now, you would think that someone in baator would not mind the stolen goods, but they seem a little too picky.

Only steal what you will use. You can't sell feced goods anywhere. I stole something early in the game. Even near the end I still couldn't sell it. ended up putting it in a container. ( I hate littering LOL) :)

Well, I thought of an alternative for getting lots of gold. I take expensive items I don't want to get rid of and sell them for the gold, then steal them right back. That way, I have the items I want and plenty of gold to buy things I can't steal. (For example, I had to raise a lot of gold for tattoos, and I haven't been able to steal anything from the Curiosity Shoppe, so I have to pay for everything I want from there.)

I think you're right: you should only steal what you intend to use. As a result, I haven't stolen many of the exotic axes and clubs since my characters don't have those proficiencies, but I have stolen about 200 heart charms, 50 corpse fly charms, etc.

I don't like littering, either, so I usually put stuff in containers if I don't want to carry it. The problem is, some of the stuff I've found is so weird, it seems like there might be a use for it later on. A cobblestone? Intestines? Could there be a use for Pharod's Crutch after I've raided his secret stash? Etc. You don't need to spoil me; I'm just making the point that I've been carrying a lot of junk I suspect I'll never use.

Heh, I did that in BG2. I sold everything and then stole back what I wanted to keep.
