They are truly great if you have someone to cast protective magic on them. Spiritarmour is like a full-plate and if you cast improved invisibility on that your ac will be really low. Just watch out so it doesn't get dispelled. I prefer fighters that you don't have to babysit however which is why I like the Barbarian!!

I had a half-elf Kensai as my first character. Granted, I missed a few things in the game, but overall, she kicked some serious keister. When I made her, I maxed out her dex and game her 15 str, because I figured that being strong was useless if I got hit all the time. Eventually I got the girdle of frost giant strength, so that took care of the strength problem. She also procured the boots of speed, so essentially, she made sushi out of pretty much everything. It was fun. I think her AC at the end of the game was -2, which isn't that fantastic when compared with possible -15 or more, but it worked out somehow, and she rarely died.

I found them to be pretty useful fighters, though their "special abilitie" sucks ****. No good whatsoever. However, the additions to hit and damage make them a force to be reckoned with. Problem is they need lots of nice gadgets to be good. Swords and other weapons with ac bonuses are great, so are cloaks, rings etc. I find them to be the best damager in the game. True to the char. though, they lack defense.

Hey i've finished the two games with a fighter who was "kited" as a kensai in SOA, and this char. was an ironclad (a character which have gone through the games without any loading) so as you see he can best Irenicus without dying even once

and to knight: his special ability is actually really good when you compare it to a normal fighter, the kensai deals in the long run about 50 or more percent than the normal one.

My most perfered weapons are: celestrial fury, dual wielded with the equalizer, and remember to give him all the best potective rings, amulets etc. :D :D
The only depenable thing about the future is uncertenty!!!

i must agree, kensais are probably the best damage dealing single class kit. If you work up your katana and two wep style, you can deul maybe a celestial fury, and a katana +3 (or higher) and deal insane damage. The ability kai isnt all that bad if used wisly. It can work well with critical strike, smite etc, causing even more massive damage. I played a half orc through soa and tob, and he was insane. Even though i got the experience of a full party, i still was able to solo some of the tougher bhall spawn (abazagal and yaga sura). IMO, its the best fighter kit, with a ring of protection + 2, a cloak of the sewers, a ioun stone (+1 ac or something) and some boots of speed... thats a force to be reckoned with... Using a half orc (and disregarding cha) you can get your fighter stats to 19 str 18 dex and 18 (or 19, i forget) con. Thats a starting ac of 6 -which is easily lowered with rings, claoks, and the works - and +3 to hit, and 7 to damage.. its crazy i tell ya.

The problem with kai teron, is that it only lasts for a few seconds, as opposed to say offensive stance which last 24 secs and has attack mods. I agree they are an awesome fighter kit, but Kai sucks.

Well, if you consider that with magical armour you can't wear rings of protection, wich make better your AC AND savings, the lack of armour isn't really a problem: You can use spirit armour and a ring +2 to have a base=-3, which is better than the -2 of the best armours in ToB.

Alternativelly, using hte cloak of the shields and a ring +2 you can have a base of 0. There are also potions of invulnerability and of stone form, which abound in the game...
Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...
