question about called shot..either a evil cheese tactic or bleh...

Post by UserUnfriendly »

I still remember getting my head handed to me in improved fish city, as i went in ****y and sure and died....once past stoneskin, the darts did their thing as a 12 level archer fired them under called shot, so after stoneskin went, i did not notices, as i had sendoku and was regenerating like crazy, so the called shot at 12 level drained my strength, and i got attribute drained to death....

now i am thinking, called shot is something i never experimented with, so here is a question, at lv 12 or so called shot drains a point of strength...at next upgrade +2 to hit and damage...

is it cumulative or if you get to level 16, your bolts only do +2 damage and thaco, or do you get the str drain from last upgrade???

now you do realize, like greater deathblow, you can fire a frag grenade, and drain the strength of everyone in range???

"i feel weak!!! help me....i've fallen and cant move due to encumberence..."
They call me Darth...

That's a very interesting point, and the main reason I haven't played an archer yet. The description doesn't really state one way or the other, and if it isn't cumulative then it's not a very good special ability. Might have to play with this and see what happens.

Just did had a quick test and it looks like the effects are cumulative. I created a 16th level archer, summoned Anomen into the group and started shooting him (damn it was fun too :D ), and all teh effects occured: Loss of THAC0, strength, extra HP damage and save vs spells.

Yes, the effects are indeed cumulative.
I cannot be caged.
I cannot be controlled.
(I probably cannot be contained either) :p ;)
