Wis Modifier to Save vs. Spells

Post by hwttdz »

I heard that the save versus spells due to wisdom was not in the game? Is this true. What about spell failure for clerics? What about max level for int for wizards?

WIS does seem to affect your saves versus enchantment/charm type spells. I only know have empirical observation to base this on, but I have noticed that Minsc seems to get dominated by vampires far more often than my PC who is a ranger of the same level.

I don't believe there is any spell failure for either clerics or mages. The effect of WIS/INT on spell casting seems only to be implemented in limits on the max number of spell known (and for mages the % of writing a scroll to spellbook). Mages can get around both effects by drinking a potion of genius to temporarily increase their INT. I don't play clerics so I'm not sure if they can do anything about number of spells known...

Not unless you glugged a potion of insight and then had someone cast limited wish or wish, and then cast the extra spells really quickly.

Not really worth it... :D
