Hoarding money is a good thing!!! (SPOILER contained within)

Post by 1-800-DOCTORB »

A friend of mine always makes fun of the fact that in RPG's, I always sell everything that is sellable and hoard the money I make as if expecting some incredible item of awesome power will eventually become availible that due to my intelligence with my money, I will have just enough to buy it. Heh heh, imagine my surprise when I realized there is just such an item in IWD2.

That adventurers handbook or whatever its called that you can get at the Black Raven Monestary, rocks. I'm sure there will be a lot of people who think I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but consider that the instant 10,000 (or was it 15,000?) experiance boost the tome affords you for one of your character's, effectivly cancels out the ECL balancing for Aasimars and Tieflings, and decreases it for Drow, Gray Dwarves, and Deep Gnomes. I was seriously thinking of not including any of those sub-races the next time I play through IWD2, but my faith in their hypeness has been revived, luckey I hoarded the 98,000 gold necessary to buy it, whew thats alot of gold. Of course I *could* have rested outside the monestary indefinatly until I had killed enough Yeti's and got their pelts and gone back to the Duergar outpost and sold them for the money necessary, but I'm glad I didn't have to.
The "B" is for bargain
