Bearded femal gnomes :-(

Post by Tanari »

Here is my Problem from BG1 again ...

All small characters seem to have the male dwarf paperdoll. Its not a big problem, that a gnome isn't as "fat" as a dwarf, but my female halfling has a beard

That looks terrible and even a helmet can't hide this LONG WHITE BEARD....

Is there any way to exchange the used paperdoll of a character? A female elf would fit much better, if there isn't anything small AND female.

Any ideas?

Bye,
Tanari

What I don't understand is that there IS something small and female: a halfling rogue or bard, yet the game won't use those sprites for anything else. I created a halfling rogue and eventually started leveling it up as a wizard. Once she reached lv3 wizard, she surpassed the 2 levels of rogue I had given her, and suddenly her sprite changed to that of a male Gnome, I was so pissed. I mean whats wrong with keeping the sprite the same, geez. But the real reason I'd imagine is that Black Isle never bothered to update any of the character sprite animations and there simply isn't an animation for a halfling rogue casting a spell since halflings could not be wizards in any of the previous Black Isle games. Baldur's Gate 1&2 and Icewind Dale all have cool editors available that I'm sure you've heard of called Keepers (Gate Keeper, Shadow Keeper, Dale Keeper), hopefully they'll make a Dale Keeper 2 or something that will allow you to pick whichever sprite for your characters you want.
The "B" is for bargain
