@Warrior -- make sure to get ToB, you will not regret it. :)

There have been countless posts discussing best weapons, so try some searching.

With regards to dual-wielding, here's a post from my bookmarks (from ToB forum, but it's still relevant I think):

In SoA, you can't go wrong dual wielding Celestial Fury and the Crom Faeyr (sp?), IMHO.

I'll speak from a RP standpoint. For a Berserker I'd go with Hammers/Axes. This gives you Hammer of Thunderbolts->Crom Faeyr and Frostreaver/Stonefire. For a Kensai I'd go with Celestial Fury with either Belm or Kundane in the off hand for an extra attack per round. Personally I don't see why people use Kensais and I think Berserkers are just a more colorful kit. A Berserker with Staff of Rynn and Single Weapon Style would also be pretty cool.

I would say: Longsword\Shield or Two Handed Sword.
There are MANY mighty of both. :)

Btw, if youre a Paladin I would choose Two Handed Sword.

Pitchwife +5 (from the item upgrade mod) is the best weapon I know of if your goal is to kill things :)
It's +5, does elemental (well, acid) damage, plus hard round-to-round damage (spikes). Some of it will hit almost anything.

Without mods, double wielding CF and Flail of the ages is very good. Swap one of these for the Equalizer if you want the Mind Shield or if you know that your opponents are chaotic, evil etc.

Depending on who is in my party, I sometimes consider not to do the Crom Faeyr at all to give the belt and gauntlets to NPCs that actually need them
(I mean, nobody actually needs to have 25 str) ;)
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

Isn't it something from ToSc? I THINK I found it there. It says something about that it's his most priced possesion, and that he got it from his mother, or was it grandmother?......

One-handed non-modded SoA only: Crom.

Two-handed non-moded SoA only: Silver Sword (non-Paladin) or Carsomyr (Paladin).

But it **really** helps. You're really going to be hitting things more easily and doing more damage (with your other weapon too). :D :D :D

The Crom is an extremely powerful weapon IMHO.

No, 25 str is the maximum you can have in AD&D 2nd edition. It gives +7 to hit and +14 damage ... which is pretty much.
