Anyone interetsed in anew kind of music?

Post by Vinin »

My band and I have just recently put out a demo to send to record companies but we have no idea who to send to. We are a "swank band" This is a new kind of music we invented. It is swing and ska and everything between. Our sound is very different than most ska bands though. If you wish to hear a song or two from our demo please pm me. Also if you know any labels we can send to, please post or PM me as well. BTW our band is called Nun The Less
It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.

"I never thought it would end like this,
just because I got no ****,
I'll shave my legs and wear a bra,
I'll even cut my p**** off for you."
-Reel Big Fish

Now that's a love poem if I ever heard one.

Well record labels like new and original things. Original sound can be very promising and it can start with something so simple. I wish you luck in finding labels and sponsors and all that other junk you gotta go through to get stuff official and what not.

I mean there was a band that started in my high school a few years ago and they started so small. They came up with the strangest lyrics and had some original sounds. The name of this band is: "They Might Be Giants" who have created some of the most unique songs like "Particle Man" "Istanbul, Not Constantinople" and the theme song to the show "Malcolm in the Middle"
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

I love They Might Be Giants, that is such a wicked theme tune. :D

@Ty:

I remember hearing them quite some time ago. I had no idea they were from your neck of the woods. :) Speaking of your neck of the woods, that's where most of my relatives live. I get a kick out of listening to their thick New England accents. :D

Me: "What did you say, Greg?"

Cousin Greg: "I said he wrecked his cah."

Me: "He wrecked his what?"

CG: "His cah."

Me: "...Oh, ok. You mean a ca*r*. A car."

CG: "Yeah, a cah."

:D

Thats the Boston accent. But I live far enough away from the city to have not picked up that accent. For some reason the accent is also common in New Hampshire and Vermont, but if you go west of Boston, you tend not to hear the accent for some reason. But everyone seems to make fun of the Boston accent. :D

You know, Ty, you're right. That's strange. A good number of my cousins live in New Hampshire, just a few miles from the border with Mass. They have a strong dose of it. Yet a friend of mine from Marshfield didn't have that kind of accent at all. It must be the corrupting influence of Vermont and Boston. You have managed to fall outside of their insiduous reach. :D
