Post by JSPCHIEF »

What The Fu@#! I installed the Sola mod and now the Ch. 3 Bohdi battle is so tough I can't get past it. Any one have any suggestions on this? I can't even hardly wound her before all my party is dead (mostly chunked)!

Improved Bodhi is part of the optional components of Solaufein. You can run Setup-Solaufein.exe again and uninstall the ones you don't want.

Depending on which version of the Sola mod you have, imp. Bodhi may or may not fling "cloud of bats" at you, a very annoying creeping-doom-type of spell that disrupts spellcasting. In the latest version of the mod, I think imp. Bodhi doesn't do "cloud of bats" in Ch. 3 anymore.

Make sure you've got good weapons (+5 enchantment ideal), cast Prot. From Energy on melee fighters and smack her. Mages should true sight, and throw khelben's at her. Or just send a planetar or two or three or four at her. Last time i met her in Ch. 3 she wasn't a big deal at all. My planetar finished her off (vorpal weapons, remember!)...

@jspchief, you could also check my long-ish post from not a long ago here:

It includes a description of my encounter with Bodhi in Ch. 6...

Bohdi

Maybe I'm there a little early...my chars are in the mid teen lvls right now...no HLAs...no planetars. She doesn't use the bats , but Edwin is dead before he gets off two lower res. And then she casts aa sleep spell that none of my Chars make a save against. Hard to fight back when you're napping. I've even tried to cheese it...about 16 skull traps where she gates in...definately takes care of the archers, but barely wounds her. Grrrr...I may have to come back after some time in the Watchers Keep. Any tips on beating this would be much appreciated.

If you got a decent level cleric have her summon 2 or so aerial servants, and have them positioned where Bodhi appears. Next move your party to the corridor before the coffin room and turn off AI just in case. Now have your main character run into the room and stake the last coffin and run out into the corridor with the remaining party members. Bodhi should appear and make a speech while the Aerial Servants are pounding away at her. Give it a min or so and she should be dead. Hope this helps.

My Main Man

Genxooseven...You are the Man!!!

Aerial servants boldy went where others had been chunked...and kicked Vampire tail all over the place. I can't believe I've never used that spell before...is it always that effective?

Thanx for the help all! I'm sure I'll be back.

Hmm, very interesting indeed... Cheesy, yes, but it works, :D

Not my style of play, though, I don't like to hide & pound enemies from off screen. Instead, look them in the eye, say, "Bring it on, yo" then SMACK!! Run around, drink potions like crazy if necessary of course...

if you were in the mid teen levels then tell me just how that you got the TOB spell to summon them? also did you do all of the side quests on the mainland before fighting bodhi?
fighting Bodhi can be avoided by accepting Valen's offer and going to the graveyard at night time.
Remember, being Evil in Baldur's Gate 2 is VERY fun...

Aerial Servant is a 6th Level cleric spell.......
"Sometimes Dreams are wiser than waking"

"One day I will leave this world and Dream myself to Reality"

"Dream your life, live that Dream"

"I have a Dream"........Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

aerial servents like inv stalkers are perm invisible, so if you installed balderdash patch they have good bonuses for meelee and are almost invulnerable to spells...

this is why mass inv skellies are almost as good,....6 inv and hasted skellies can clear out the mind flayer lair...

and now we got confirmation bodhi in chapt 3 does not have a scripted death spell for summons...

inv stalkers and servants make great blockers...they will occupy a enemy group long enough for ranged party to snipe to death...

now i wonder if this would work for part 2

careful, tho...if you think bodhi is hard, try eclipse...

giggle.....

Cheese and the many ways to slice it.

I normally don't like doing the"send magic in while hiding in another room" trick, but I was at a standstill. Believe me, I wouldn't come in here looking for help if I hadn't tried it on my own about 30 times. As far as doing all the mini quests...yes I did them (at least most of them), I just was getting tired of running around the city and was ready for the game to advance. the next Bohdi being harder doesn't worry me that much...fact of the matter is, all enemies can be defeated if you find the right strategy. I just had a hard time finding the strategy I needed for that first Bohdi fight. Who would have guessed that a lowly Aerial Servant spell would have worked? I've tried using that on much weaker enemies since then and my servant gets the air spanked out of him.

by the way Skull Trap is still my favorite spell...nothing like throwing a grenade into the middle of an approaching enemy!

10 times harder normally
20 times harder if you have Solaufein
30 times harder if Sola is NOT your only romance (both are abducted..)

Actually, I ended up finding her at chapter 6 easier than at chapter 3. Why? At chapter 6 I already had High Level Abilities available. And improved Daystar! Only in Ansension she died faster (when all it took was one hit from Korgan's Rune-Hammer)
Of course, I had not Sola with me, so I can't comment on that bit :D

undead sola makes bodhi a joke....

immune to everything and will itch slap your party silly...

stacked spell immunities and prot from magic weapons is nasty...

the only way to face him in earier versions was swarm with summons until protections ran out....

new version, run away,,, move to second floor, and wait until they run out...pls understand, this is a bun bun lead party and with some nasty perks...like jahiera is a totemic druid fighter, and jan is a assassin mage...

all at very high levels...i always boost a party playing a wes mod...

undead sola can mince most parties in very little time.....

not quite as bad as eclipse or improved irenicus....you will love those...

btw, both are resistant or immune to traps...

Okay...I stand corrected. Now I'm in Ch6 Bohdi fight. Sola Vamp is dead. The only time I actually killed bohdi she healed herself just as she spoke the "I'm dying or whatever phrase"and was good as new. Of course with my depleted party she thoroughly spanked my remaining peeps. Is there something I missed as far as killing her, or do I have to do it twice?

I think it's only a matter of doing it quickly ...
(I'm not telling that it's easy or that I know a way to do it).
Otherwise, yes, we have to kill her twice.... and maybe more

Actually, I haven't tried that fight yet.
At present I'm making some swordplay practice with master Kuriosan of Kara-Tur ;)
(Currently at reloads = 2)

Maybe I should visit the graveyard for a change, it's a more appropriate place for a party planning to die... :p

Thinking of the most cowardly/cheesy/shameful tactics to deal with Imp. Bodhi...

Chapter 3: side with her. (Hey, it's easy and it works!) ;) :o
(Actually, isn't improved Bodhi a little overpowered for chapter 3?)
Chapter 6: for better chances, romance no one, or send them on a holiday before the fight.
CTRL-Q Drizzt if you can't stand going around without a pretty drow hero in your party :p

Oh my...
I think I could end up actually doing it...

(Now that I think of it, what about CTRL-Qing Kuriosan instead and sending him after chapter-6 Bodhi  He has an amulet of power by himself from starters... maybe regenerates faster than her too...) ...two problems solved in one...

No, no, I won't do it! (and you shouldn't do it as well)! :D
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...
