I am not too far along.
I am at the part where the villagers are being held by orcs and I have to sneak in and unlock the gate to the mill and then kill all the guards.
I used the invis potion and unlocked the gate.
I went through that gate and killed all the Orcs there.
I went to the main orc camp and killed all those orcs.
I went into the cave where Vrek the Troll is and killed everything including Vrek.
I returned the moonblade to the priestess.
Kaitlan (the villager who told me about the way to unlock the mill gate) asks me how she can help me when I return to her. My only dialogue option is something like "You can not at this time"
The villagers inside the mill do not speak to me other than to say things wboout being worried about the orcs etc.
There is a gate leading out of the mill in the other direction which is locked and requires a key. I have no idea how to get through that gate or what still remains to be done for these villagers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am stuck, need spoiler I think ( early spoiler inside)
I can't remember where I found that key - either inside the cave or on Torak's body.

Press the alt key to highlight objects laying on the ground and check all the piles of loot. If you still can't find it, you can cheat it in at the console:
crtlaltdelete:CreateItem("22keyhg1")
Type the above exactly as you see it - do not press the CRTL, ALT, or DELETE keys.

No, the villagers never really had anything to say. I did talk to Kaitlan after saving the villagers but before killing Torak, but all she said was something to the effect of "go kill Torak".

A good rule of thumb is: If the character doesn't have a name, then he has nothing to say.
This is the case for most scenarios.
You might hear some new idle chatter when you enter a town, but after a while it will become clear that everyone says the same things.
Just think of the peasants like the nematodes on sponge bob. They're really just saying, "meep"

the alt key.........can be dangerous.........
you should not become too dependent on the alt key funktion....
i have this monk who rarely gets hit......i also have five other spellcasters/marksmen at safe distance........i make lots of creepy enemies sorround my monk.......and then they all die.......
the problem is......that not all corpses leave items.........(duh of course....that itself is a problem).....anyway.....those corpses that do not leave items sometimes(in my case most times) covers items that were already on the ground!!!
and parts of items that are covered cannot be shown with the alt key.....!!!
that is why trusting alt key completely.....can be dangerous......
it is more safe to doublecheck.....when you move the mouse pointer across the giant piles of corpses......then the mouse will signal "here is sommeting" or something like that.........
most safe way(i think) is to wait for the corpses to rotten away.....(because i think that corpses disappear before items do....but i am not sure!!!!)....(make the game load a new scene and make it load back to where the items were....and so on and so....).......then there will eventually only be items left.....
but darn it......who has the patience to do something like that....??
and i am not even sure if it goes for all items.....
(of course...if you have big wizards with lots of disintegrate then it is nothing to worry about......ups but then you will not get the items?!?!?!........or was that some other spell ........nahh...i am not the big wizard expert)
just be careful you guys and girls ....in big figts with lots of monsters that is........

It seems that you can usually find the edge of an item peeking from under it's fallen owner.
If you're really suspiscious of the dead bodies hiding stuff follow these steps.
1.) look for items by depressing the alt key
2.) Save them game.
3.) Rest
4.) scan the ground and press the alt key.
5.) decide if you missed anythng the first time around and note it's location.
6.) reload to the previously saved moment before you rested and retreive the itime.
No muss. No fuss, just lots of wasted r/t but no wasted game time. Ha!
