BG2 Crash

BG2 Crash

I just completed the cult of the eyeless-quest and have been in the Slums before. Nonetheless whenever I enter the Slums now the game crashes and the only thing remaining is a black square on my Windows screen and I have to kill BGII. I can still enter other areas in the city. I have installed the latest patch and I haven't read about this kind of problem before (but I could have missed it). Had someone else encountered this kind of behaviour before?
