Shapeshifters

Post by Sparky »

Here's a problem I am having. I'm using Cernd for my Druid and I'm trying to make him better than he is know(hes really really bad). So heres my question: can the gloves
that help hand to hand fighting (gauntlet of crushing i think) help Cernd when hes shapeshifted into a werewolf. Are his claws considered fists, Will the gauntlets do anything.HELP!!!

No they wont help since the paws of the werewolf is considered a weaponn. The gauntlets of weapon expertise, or skill will help.

Cernd isn't half as bad as people seem to think. You have to remember that he is, first and foremost, a druid and not a fighter. You should try to lower his AC as much as possible, both in werewolf form and in natural form. Equip him with Bracers of AC 3 (at least until you get the staff providing Barkskin), a Ring of Protection, his own cloak, of course, and the Helmet of Balduran. The later also lowers his THAC0. Cernd should fight in his werewolf form. However, equip him with a one-handed weapon (either with Buckler +1 or a * in single weapon style) to lower his AC a bit more when in natural form.

I also think that Cernd isn't that bad. He's a good druid and a decent backup fighter. I had him a short while and he did very well, but then I took Mazzy instead him, because I had planned my squad forehand. My next party will be a weird one, Cernd included. It's just that he can't advance past lv14 before ToB, so I'll play the party till that level and wait for ToB. Then he will be a killing machine.
Centuries ago in England........It was an era of chivalry and magic. The evil Prince John unleashed an iron fist of tyranny upon the people. They called out for a champion.........one man answered that call. His name, was Robin Hood. Fearless in his quest for justice Robin Hood challenged the power of the high warlords. While protecting the helpless and the poor. Willing to face death for what he believed, along with the beautiful, lady warrior, Jaheira, the mighty Minsc, and the wise Keldorn. Robin Hood forged a legend that lives on today in............

Take Level 50 ruleset and your druids will advance almost as clerics. With ToB there might be problems, though, in light of traditional approach.
