Cavern of the Incarnate

Post by angbear »

I must need special help on this one. I have the clue book and a map and I still cannot find the Cavern of the Incarnate. Yes I know the entrance only shows up at certain hours. I cannot find a white capped rock? Any help for the directionally handicaped?

Well if you look at the map and you look at the valleys in the map, you can find it-its not marked on the map at all. IIRC, then the valley you want to be in is the first valley west of the Grazelands, and it is located at the southern most point in the valley. But I havent done this quest in a while, so this is purely memory. Im sure other members will either correct my mistakes or confirm that Im right.
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

I had a lot of trouble finding it, too. The best advice I can give you (from memory) is to take the first valley to the west of the grazelands. Go south for a while, then the valley turns west, then back south again. Its a bit of a walk, but you should get there eventually. You should be able to see the entrance all times, but you can only get in during twilight (dawn/dusk). Good luck with it! Here's the directions from the Urshilaku Camp, taken from Steve Mill's Morrowind Walkthrough:

Ask Sul-Matuul about the third trial again, and he will reply with a riddle. Basically you must gain the moon and star and return it to Nibani. The third trial takes place in the Cavern Incarnate.
Leave the camp and head east along the coast until you come up to the mountains (it is a bit of a hike), when you get to the mountains there will be a path going south, follow that path (if you see two large spikes of rock flanking the path you are on the right path, if not the path is east of you). Follow this path until you come to the Cavern of the Incarnate. Wait until 6 am or 6 pm, then the door will be able to be opened. Walk forward and take the Moon and Star, at this point a movie will play and describe the next two trials. You may speak with all of the failed Nerevarines and receive all of the various items they give you.
Good things come to those that wait--but only what's left over from those that hustle.

Yeah, hard to find. There are 2 valleys parallel to each other, and the Cavern is in the westernmost one ( to the best of my memory). The top of the rock is not white, just slightly lighter in color.

If you are on the PC my advice is to cheat a little. Cast Mark anywhere, then press ~ to open the console and type in the following:

coc "cavern of the incarnate"

After you are there bring up the map and note the general area. Then Recall, and start your journey.

Don't worry, I don't believe that anyone managed to find it on the first try without any walkthroughs or at least a little cheating.

goatryda, dawn and dusk are at 6am and 6pm.

You have to give him the stuff you picked up from the dead ones.
