reading new resistance values

Can someone explain how to read the new style of resistance values?

Example: Cold resistance 2/-

TIA

i think it works this way:

the first number shows you how much damage of a type you can resist (here -2 if the damage is cold based). the second number shows what magical enhancement a weapon (of the enemy) must have to bypass your resistance (here none (can't bypass your resistance))

Hey, I was interested in how this exactly works, too.

So are 2p of (cold) damage substracted from EVERY (cold) damage you would take, or just one time in every round??

I think the damage is absorbed from every attack.
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

Dave has the right of it. Any time you would recieve cold damage 2 will be subtracted off the top.
