I've got a question...
How would you go about neutralizing hard hitting monsters who have a magic resistance or who, are immune all together, if all you have in your party are mages?

@EtherImp: Usually have someone who can absorb heaps of hits by having multiple stoneskins and mirror image etc, this gives me enough time to casts about 3-4 spells from each mage with no fear of any damage or as Coot suggested, tons of cannon fodder.
This is followed by:
Cast 2-3 lower MR
Lower Saving throws- chaos. enfeeble etc
Slow
Magic missile (any wizards best friend)
Stuff like that.
Thats a generally low level approach, can get real serious when you have some machos gracious spells in your books.
@User: Dispell worked, but unfortunatly hasn't solved the problem, it simply happens again when I re-cast Melfs. Might have to remove from spells

Just use sunfir or dragons breath. It by passes MR
