ok..well..this is incredibly out of date, but...anyway.

aegis is technically 'eh-g(soft)iss' - from latin, for shield, as spammybrother (tyb) said. as in ars magica's "aegis of the hearth". another good example of the pronunciation is "faerie."

i couldn't quite tell if "E gis" is the same as what i'm saying, so don't mind me if i'm just repeating.... :)

Don't mean to nitpick, but shouldn't we use the greek pronunciation, since I think it was used in Homer's Illiad?
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach

That's alchohol abuse; I believe in Kentucky spilling a drink carries with it a $100 fine and community service.

We probably should, but the influence of the Roman civilisation is such that even though it's right, pronouncing aegis with a hard 'g' will probably be seen as wrong. I prefer saying 'Eejits' anyway... :D

It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.
