Installed ToB - No longer can wear Armour plus Cloak/Ring of Protection

I Installed ToB - Minsc can no longer can wear Armour such as Gorgon Plate plus the +2 Cloak of Protection.

If I remove one of the items - he will not be able to re-equip it. The same holds true for the other characters.

Any idea what the story with this is?

Armors, such as the Red Dragon Scale, Gorgon plate, etc count as magical, with ToB installed, when they did not before, It was an oversight by the designers in SoA and corrected in ToB. Because they grant magical protection (+1, +2 etc.) you are only allowed one such item at a time, so you can't wear a ring or cloak or amulet of protection at the same time as the armor or each other. There are however quite a few items (cloak of the sewers or ring of earth control for example) that don't count as granting magical protection but still give armor class bounuses.

There is a patch to disable this, if you like that sort of thing, see the sticky at the top of the forum.

Nor is it worth patching this. Leave it all equipped, though in real DnD terms, I think if you have 2 magical items at once, they will explode...
