This one has Goldar's wife, Silvar, on the left with their human/robot kid Gam on the right. All three turn into rocket ships to fight bad guys. </STRONG>
Question: If the kid was human/robot and they were full robot...doesn't that mean that one of the kid's actual parents had to be a human?

If my memory serves me correctly . . . Goldar and Silvar brought to Earth by this guy, Mathusem:
They were to fight the evil forces of Rodak:
While on Earth they ran into Tom and Miko. Goldar and Silvar asked Mathusem to create a robotic child for them to make a family. I'm not sure about either the biology or the science, but Mathusem used Miko as the model for Gam (only Miko never had foot-long antennae sticking out of his head).
That's Tom on the left, Miko in the middle and Gam on the right.

Here's a website that shows the battle wherein the three super robots Great Mazinger, Getta Robot, and Grendaizer joined forces to defeat one humongous sea monster.

I used to watch a show with a similar robot called Tranzor Z. Then came a bunch of cartoons I watched religiously until they quit showing them: Voltron, G.I. Joe, the Transformers, the Silverhawks, the Tigercats, and finally Robotech: Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospoeda (Invid Invasion). After Robotech, they stopped showing cartoons in my hometown, so I quit watching them.

@HLD : Tranzor Z was an anime called Mazinger Z, which got several continuance anime like Great Mazinger and Grandeizer. You can relive those moments by reading it on my anime thread. threadAs for Tigercats, I think it's called Thundercats
...we knew it as Mazinger Z... (you just gotta love Aphrodie A's lone form of weaponry )...
...I recall Great Mazinger, teaming up with Getta Robot and Grendaizer against some gigantic aqua-robot-monster.

... we even had the chance to watch the movie sometime in the late 90's before I came over to Thailand.
When my Dad was in Japan back in '78 I asked him to buy me the complete Voltes V set made of die-cast metal.
I preferred the Voltes toy over the Mazinger Z and Grendaizer because there are more parts.
The Daimos toy wasn't that nice. Considering that Daimos was a martial arts-type of robot, the toy was very much stiff especially the legs.
