Ok.. from technical side of the romances : Yeasterday I made some "Romance" for Valygar, so far it works quite well. His scripts recognize whether the romance with Anomen was finished (then of course romance is terminated immediately as it is in case of other romances) or not and race, gender of main player. Scripts force next "dialogues" without problems so far.

Now I'm going to focus on in party dialogues (Anomen - Edwin or something like that)

Just for your information...
So sayeh

Thanks Manveru !
This member of the Harem is most grateful
;) . I think that we'll need to come up with a little more dialogue, looking over things there is a fairly big jump from flirtation to a the big declaration of love. Maybe we'll get a chance to do more a bit later?

I'm mulling over an intermediary script between the big proposition and the flirtation (with Valygar/Kivan etc). But being the weekend, family stuff etc. I'll see what I can come up with, and try to post it sometime soon.

Manvera: Thanks :) *hug*

I'm running a bit low on dialgue as well, but have a funny thing to add about Edwin. When other members are forced from the party they tend to stand against the walls of the copper coronet...Edwin on the other hand stands on the stairway above, looking down upon all others...just funny :)

Edit, not suitable for this board.

I apologize to those on this thread. For my shameful behavior.

Not shameful at all DP, just mislocated :)

Everyone: I have another Anomen/PC dialogue, specific to the Kivan triangle. Not sure where it would fit though...

A: This Kivan, he is the one you spoke to me of, yes? One of those who fought with you in the city of Baldur's Gate?

PC: Yes, he is.

A: He must be a good person, to have shared your company and assisted you in your righteous endeavors.

PC: Indeed. Kivan was a devoted friend and an invaluable warrior. I was honored to have fought at his side and am happy to have found him again.

A: Such memories...must have created a strong bond between you...

PC: a) Not really. Our comradeship was a result of the necessity of battle, nothing more.
b) Yes, as with all my companions.
c) Yes, Kivan is very...dear to me.
d) Afraid you can't compete, eh?

(Can't think of a response for a...)

A (b): I shall honor him then, as one whom you saw fit to accept into your company. Let us go on now. I hope that I too shall gain the friendship of this good man, for your sake.
(c): I see...Will you take my hand as we walk along?...we are nearing the end of the day, and I suddenly long to rest in your arms once again...
(d): You know me too well. Let us go on, I must think on this.

Thoughts/comments/constructive criticisms?...

Like it...

Response to (a) maybe something like
A - I must admit that it pleases me to hear it... I would not wish to share your affections with another. My heart shall rest easy.

Or is that too.... obvious?

Just a thought - since the dialogues are triggered in realtime, you have the potential of Anomen saying "we are nearing the end of the day" at pretty much any time of the day or night... Unless it's scripted in to happen at a specific time. I like it though, schweet :o

Thanks :)

I hesitated on the "end of day" thing for that very reason, but once it appeared in my head I just could not resist it...

Like the response to (a)...could be too obvious, but then again it wouldn't take much to make poor insecure Anomen suspicious...perhaps the PC could have a response to that as well?...

Good additions! :)

I’ve some more Edwin dialogue if this amuses anyone :)
This is the one prior to his discussion with Anomen and his invitation of the pc into the tavern…(I hate being all out of order, but oh well! It’s more serious, but the next thread will be much funnier, I guarantee it) ;)

Edwin: My Dear, as we walk along the rocks in my shoes are distracting me beyond patience, and I try to think on more pleasant topics. Thus, I’ve been mulling over you…

PC: Yes?

Edwin: What type of women are you I try to discover, you have so many surprises…. I originally thought you uninteresting, simian…but now I find myself trying to categorize why you do what you do…
Sometimes you seem weak by helping such pathetic fools, other times I am almost in awe of your…power…

PC: I am tired of being thought of as just the child of Bhaal! I am a flesh and blood woman, with emotions, pain and… laughter on those rare occasions…

{Or alternatively: Afraid I might be too much to handle as a traveling companion, ‘Eddie’?}

Edwin: Your power is not from your heritage I think, it is something that I am deciding. It’s not where you are from, but YOU. (Bah! I consider those around myself too much and should be spending more time increasing my knowledge of the arcane arts, not spending time with this morsel!)

{Answer to alternative: Eddie? Who have you been talking to?!? EDWIN is my name! And, no..as a traveling companion you are quite fine…(if I were to move forward with other designs though…that is something I must think on…}

Loner72: :D

My dialogues a bit wordy though..(I'm a bit tired and therefore tend to babble), but the next one shouldn't be as bad :)

Awe "We are nearing the end of the day, and I suddenly long to rest in your arms again." that's very sweet :)

I love it when I double post :)

You all are very good at stories, and if you are interested, there is a story going on in SYM. It's been going on for a bit now 'Tales of the High Seas', but you are invited to join in. Darkpoet, myself or T'lainya (haven't asked her yet, but she's a great sort) could write you in if you'd like. It has several members, and has gone in several differenct directions now, but is rather fun :)

Just in case any are interested from the harem..okay back to working on dialogue :)

Nice Stuff!!!!
Black Isle script writers watch out

Hopefully I can come up with some stuff myself tomorrow.
I propose that upon the completion of this project we all retire to the tent and plot an epic celebration. :D

kivan....drool...i've always had the hots for him in BG, i was jealous of viconia for having more interactions with him than i. love that sexy voice!

if we'er discussing kivan's romance, i think the love triangle will be me-kivan-viconia.
remember the love-hate relationship they have in BG? half the time in the game i thought that whenever they fought they'll end up rolling in some hay and then kivan will hate her even more for getting under his skin and viconia will have that smug look on her face meaning that she won the fight. oh well it's just a thought. but in the end i'll have him. ;)

Hello, I don't mean to drench the Edwin romance with icy cold water.... :D
But, are you taking into account that He becomes a She about 4 days after you retreive the Nether scroll?
She can be transformed back into a He, but this is a major quest, and personally, I found the new Edwina dialog very enteratining.
I had in my party at that time, My PC (female F/M/T), Jahera, Minsc, Areie, Amoen, and Edwina in my party, and poor Edwina complains abour woman problems, and gets relentlessly picked on by Jahera, Areie (what a suprise that is, normally she's so shy!) , and Amoen.
Unfortunately, Minsc got sick of Edwina's whining and chopped her up, so I never compleated the quest to turn Edwina back into Edwin.

Possum: I know Edwin gets turned into a girl :) I think it adds more laughs to any romance with him, and let's face it...Edwin's not really a muscle bound idol of masculinity ANYWAY, now is he? ;)

I'm also writing up a script for right after that nice barmaid mentions their 'relationship' ;)
