Alternate Romance Scripts for female PCs
Ok.l. I think that we should take the closer look at K/V/E's biographies. I assume that some dialogues will refer to the events from the NPCs past (like it is in Jaheira's/ Viconia's / Aerie's case). We have some dialogues from very early and very advanced stages of romances. However we need much more stuff like this - for example , the smallest romance - Aerie has something about 20-25 dialogues. There even could be some quests :
- I will have to resolve in some manner Edwin's quests with gender changing. Firstly I will just collect all his dialogues and try to find out what is going on if he is the woman.
- Kivan probably will have some quest with Tazok in windspear hills. He (Kivan) will be put in other place (to make it more interesting - I think almost all BG2 players were surprised when met Tazok)
- Valygar have his planar sphere quest, however I will have to do something with his relation with Mazzy (though I don't know what)
And now the thing what I mentioned earlier :
Kivan's biography from BG1 :
When asked about his past KIVAN reveals that he hails from the forest of Shilmista, though he has not visited his homeland for quite some time. He has instead been traveling the world driven by the darkest of obsessions: revenge. Kivan and his mate Deheriana were apparently on a romantic sojourn years ago when they were waylaid by a group of Brigands. They were captured and tortured for the amusement of Tazok, the half-ogre that led the attack. Kivan eventually escaped, but Deheriana did not survive the encounter. Kivan is a man of few words, and obviously does not make friends easily. Likely he will not take much pleasure from life until he has revenged the death of his love.
----------------------------------------
Edwin's biography :
BG2 : When asked about how he came to be in the employ of the Shadow Thieves, EDWIN sneers that it is none of your business. In his opinion you are lucky enough to have encountered him at all, and further inquiries beyond this initial boon will only serve to tempt the fates. Despite his obstinate nature, there is a hint that his present circumstance is not all that favorable, and his willingness to join with you contradicts his supposed distaste for the company of others. Edwin ignores speculation about his recent past, but he does appear to have placed less emphasis on the Red Wizard colors he has so brazenly displayed in the past. It is an understandable act for a wizard traveler in mage-fearing Amn.
-----------------------
Valygar's biography :
When asked about his past, VALYGAR is silent for a long time and his face becomes grim. He explains briefly that he is the last of the Corthala noble line, a family that was once one of the wealthiest in Amn. The Corthalas have always been cursed with magical ability, however, and Valygar spits the words with great derision. Every Corthala who has used their magical talents has become obsessed with them and ultimately come to a grievous end. His mother was the most recent victim, although the ranger does not elaborate on the point. Valygar intends to fulfill his family's oath to find and destroy their ancestor, Lavok, and then he intends to let his cursed bloodline die out once and for all.

OK taking a cue from Manveru here, maybe something like this???? This may need expanding, but I'm a touch brain dead at the moment, so imput welcome (
). This would likely be an early dialogue between the pc and Kivan:
Kivan: I am very happy to be travelling with you again.
pc: a)I am also pleased that we have joined forces once more. I have met few archers with your skill and it is good to be in your company.
b)Kivan, I also am pleased that we travel together again, but perhaps we should continue our conversation later, there is much to do.
c) Kivan, this is no time to talk.
Kivan; a) I feel comfortable in your presence, it is a long time since I have been able to speak so easily with someone.
b) You are right, maybe we can talk later.
pc: a) I am glad to talk, I appreciate your friendship.
Kivan: It's strange but walking beside you, and sharing confidences brings back the pain of losing my wife, Deheriana, and yet.....it also eases my loss somehow. Avenging her death is all that I have been able to think of, but now my vision begins to clear a little. I am beginning to understand that she would have wanted me to continue living without this deep, burning hatred. Perhaps once I finally avenge her death, this will be possible. Come let us hunt Tazok.

I may need to think about the Edwin romance more, and get back on this one
I think there is HIGH potential for humor, especially during his being turned into a woman, but anything I present to Manveru should be neater than what I currently have (thus easier for him)
I'll work on it this weekend (after the move) and see if it flows, or if Edwin is a dead end romance way. I look forward to seeing new Kivan (or Val) dialogues, and appreciate all the work everyone has put into this

Ok, I have been thinking about Valygar's background, so here are a few reflections:
- interesting parallels with Anomen. Contrast if Anomen is LG - Valygar is dedicated to avenging the murder of his mother, whereas Anomen refused to avenge Moira's murder
- similarities with PC - cursed by his lineage, which has destroyed his family, much as being Bhaalspawn has caused a lot of destruction in the PC's life
- he wants his bloodline to die out. Is he contemplating suicide after killing Lavok? Probably isn't too keen on producing heirs... (Which relates to what was said earlier about him having a family... Was that after Lavok's death?)
----
And this is a possible dialogue for quite soon after you pick him up... before the planar sphere quest is finished, and before it gets romantic...
Valygar - I understand that we have a common enemy in the Cowled Wizards, my lady... Might I inquire as to the nature of your involvement with them?
PC 1 - They have abducted Imoen, a very dear companion of mine, as well as the mage who had captured us.
2 - They abducted a mage named Irenicus who was holding us captive, preventing me from exacting the bloody revenge that he is due. One of my companions was also taken.
3 - That is none of your business, Valygar.
3 -> Valygar - I am sorry, my lady, I do not mean to pry... Perhaps we shall find time to talk later. (END)
1/2 -> Valygar - Those foolish enough to use magic ought to be stopped. Its power is dangerous in the wrong hands... I am sorry about your friend, however. Magic often harms those closest to us.
PC 1 - You say this with an air of apprehension, Valygar...
2 - Perhaps, but it can also be most beneficial.
3 - I will not listen to you insulting Imoen! Her magical skill has aided me many-a-time.
1 -> Valygar - Indeed I do, PC... for my own mother was murdered in the pursuit of magic... Forgive me, I cannot bring myself to speak more of it. Lavok will receive most righteous vengeance, I shall see to that!
Valygar - Excuse me, my lady. Perhaps we shall speak more later, when I have subdued my anger. (END)
2 -> Valygar - Indeed?! Tell that to my innocent mother's grave! I shall take pleasure in plunging my blade into Lavok's heart!
Valygar - My blood boils to speak of it, my lady. Excuse me. (END)
3 -> I apologise, my lady, but magic has brought nothing but pain and ruin to myself and my family. Excuse me. (END)
I'm going to write another where he apologises for being rude, maybe explains a bit more, and asks the PC about Imoen some more. And maybe one about Bhaalspawn type stuff.

Very Nice, Georgi! Do you think that Valygar would say "My Lady?" Although, it's hard to know what else he could say, really

Valygar - I must apologise for my temper, I fear. I hope that the death of Lavok will bring an end to this anger. I meant no disrespect.
Valygar - Perhaps you will tell me more of this Imoen, fair maiden.
PC 1 - Imoen is like a sister to me... We grew up together amongst the dusty tomes of Candlekeep, and we have travelled together since the death of my guardian, Gorion.
2 - I grew up with Imoen, under Gorion's tutelage... She irritated me sometimes, but I miss her now she is gone.
3 - She tags along with me, and comes in useful occasionally.
4 - I do not care to discuss Imoen with you, Valygar.
1/2 -> Valygar - Our situations are more alike than I had imagined, then. Perhaps you know a little of how it feels to have one's family so cruelly snatched away...
Valygar - And Gorion, what of him?
3 -> Valygar - I see you have few emotional ties. It must be difficult for you to understand my anguish...
Valygar - And your foster father, what of him?
4 -> Valygar - So be it. I can but hope that you will come to trust me, PC... I find myself remarkably comfortable in your company. Until later, then... (END)
PC 1 - Gorion died trying to protect me from my... true heritage.
2 - Please, Valygar. I have put the past behind me... I do not wish to dredge up such memories.
3 - I tire of your questions! Gorion was a fool who thought to separate me from my birthright!
1/3 -> Valygar - You deliberately speak in enigmas, I suspect. I shall drop the subject for now, but I hope in time you may see fit to take me into your confidence. (END)
2 -> Valygar - I have no wish to cause you pain, friend. I shall drop the subject for now, but I hope in time you may see fit to take me into your confidence. (END)

High praise indeed Thanks
I think maybe another two... One about being Bhaalspawn, and V's initial reaction... and then another when he's had a chance to think about it.
I don't think all these will fit in before his quest is done though... considering that you can pick him up and go straight to the Planar sphere... I guess you might have time for one or two dialogues if you did that...
I was quite pleased with "fair maiden" Kind of paves the way for Anomen to start getting jealous

Another new one... could work quite well as a post-Planar Sphere dialogue? I decided he would be sympathetic about the whole Bhallspawn thing...
-----
Valygar - I admit, I am most mystified by this matter of your heritage... Will you not share with another also cursed by his blood?
PC 1 - Very well... What do you know of Bhaal, Valygar?
2 - I am hesitant to tell you... Many have judged me by it.
3 - No, Valygar... I fear you will condemn me like the rest. 'Tis best you do not know.
2/3 -> Valygar - I know well of such fear, lady... The name of Corthala is rarely welcomed. You did not leap to judge me, PC... I would extend you the same courtesy, if only you would let me.
PC 1 - Very well... What do you know of Bhaal, Valygar?
2 - I do not wish to tell you. Mind your own business.
2 -> Valygar - As you wish. I shall bother you no longer. (END, and ends romance)
(in either of above options)
1 -> Valygar - The Lord of Murder? I have read something of him... Did he not walk the earth during the Time of Troubles, before his death? And... there was a prophecy... something about mortal progeny.
Valygar - My knowledge is not as great as it could be, I am afraid. I have always rejected books and learning as the path to magery and ruin... But what relevance has this to you?
PC - I am one of those children... Bhaal was my father.
Valygar - You... you are the daughter of the Lord of Murder?! I am... a little taken aback, to say the least... though there is a hint of the divine about you.
Valygar - Such a thing must be difficult to come to terms with. When did your mother tell you of this?
PC 1 - My mother died in childbirth. I discovered my past myself, when my life was endangered.
2 - She did not... Gorion was the only family I ever knew.
Valygar - I grieve for you then, PC... Only recently have I had the misfortune to experience what it is to be without a mother. My soul was torn by her death... but to encounter a kindred spirit such as yourself has gone some way towards repairing it.
Valygar - I hope I shall be of some use to you, divine one. Let us continue on your quest. (END)
----
"there is a hint of the divine about you"... now that's smooth
Could move on from there into the more romancy dialogues that people have already suggested?
