The first time I went through the game I got right to the ending, when I, for some reason, decided to quit playing the game. I want to pick P:T up again, but I can't seem to bring myself to do it...the sheer enormity of the game overwhelms me. I missed so much in my first game and I'm the type of person who doesn't like to miss much in an RPG. Obviously I won't be able to do every single thing, but I'd like to do the majority of things. My problem is I think I have no inspiration to do the majority. I'm having a hard time rekindling the fire that made me go through it the first time. Any suggestions that might convince me to finish the game again?

Try playing it by a character of the opposite profession? If you were a warrior type before, go for the magely wiseman now, and vice versa. Plays like an entirely different game.

For your char's stats emphasize on INT and WIS from the beginning. This will enhance your gaming opportunities and moreover simplify things on various occasions.

I don't think so. At least in my version of PS:T all three classes get one bonus point to their stats forch each time they gain a level.

Personally, I don't like the mage class in PS:T all that much. Because of the graphics&resolution your range of sight is rather limited and thus ranged fighting (spellcasting) only moderately useful.

It's quite possible to play as a fighter and still focus on INT and WIS. In the beginning there are hardly tough opponents - and don't forget Morte is with you. As the game proceeds you'll become extremly powerful by level gaining, quest connected stat improvements and tatooes.

My point is that The Z could play as a fighter (if he already played as a mage or prefers the fighter class) and still apply to the advised point distribution strategy.

BTW: There's another great way for quickly gathering xp: Talk to the Abishai that roam the streets of Sigil. If Grace is in your party, they will eventually turn hostile if you don't back off.

I must agree with UncleScratchy. Knife\sword is truly THE BEST skill. There is the knife Unclescratchy is talking about, then there's Ravels Nail, Celestial Fire- sword and a good one in the beginning of the game, would be the knife you can only purchase if youre a Dustman (can't remember the name), and MANY more.
So Knife\sword skill is the best, no matter what class you are.


Btw, you have to be Lawful good to use the celestial fire weapon.

No, they all do.
You're probably just noticing that you only get a bonus stat point when you level up in your currently highest class.

One of my friends can only chose more stat every fourth level. :confused: Why is that? Is it a bug?

That must be a bug. I'm not sure about mages, but fighters and thieves gain one additional stat point every time they level up in their highest-level class. For example, if you play as a fighter and reach 13th Level, you'll gain 10 extra stat points. If you change to the thief class, you won't get any extra stat points until you Level Up to 14th level, since you already gained them as a fighter. On the other hand, you always get at least 1 hit point every time you Level Up, even if it's your second or third class.

I think I like Trym's idea since I lean towards fighters and emphasizing INT/WIS is something I've never tried before.
