How about some good old goblin hunting?

What about.... Your characters work for an evil necromancer, who sent them out on a mission to find the last spell component, the evil necromancer needed to complete his evil "control all undead" spell. And if they are good, you can let them find out how evil the necromancer is, and then turn the mission around. So now they have to KILL the evil necromancer.
Feel free to change, whatever you want to.
Btw, did you notice that I used the word "evil" 5 times.

personnaly, i hate goblin hunting. ive always been more of a monster character or evil/semi evil person. any way, perhaps a red dragon has come into town and demands gold, but after investigating, you find its just an illusion created by a halfling who wanted to scare some "big people". or my favorite, looking for lost artifact of whatever
i looked down the mine shaft to see if the cart was coming
it was-epitaph on nashkel gravestone
Executioner: so what is your last request?
Prisoner: just a clean death, so could you test the axe on my bonds
Executioner: Hmmm, all right.
Prisoner running away) thanks

Heres one that I plan to use sometime.
The Sewers beneth (insert city name here) have a strange curse that is now rising to the city above. It curses all within the city to change thaier alignment to the opposite alignment. The party just arrived, so they are not effected by this curse. An evil member of the community, now good, hires them to end the curse, traveling into the sewers to find out how to stop it.
The cause in my campaign was an ancient statue that the Goblins activated. Goblins and Hobgoblins are immune to the curse's effect.

If i can help anyway...
What about an evil character(who act as a goody) ask the group to find items for him such as minor artifacts so he can create an antievil device(but create a destroygoodies spell instead). Then the group have to kill him before he cast his spell.I know its a common story but if i can help, ill help!
