You'll only hit a couple of times in any round whatever your #attacks TACH0 is. It's really frustrating that my fighter with -6 TACH0 (Wave!) only hit ogres one or (sometimes)two times a round although his number of attacks per round was 5/2!

With a thaco of -14 you will only miss on critical rolls almost anything in the game.
For example to hit Firkagg (base ac -11)with your thaco of -14 you would need to roll a -3 or greater. And in case you didnt know all rolls are positive integers unless penatlyies are applied, so you would almost never miss.
I dont know why you are missing so much except maybe it is a bug in your game. Turn on the to hit rolls enabled to see what your fighter is rolling as that determines if he hits or not.(its why is called to hit rolls). My kensai/mage has done over 140/damage in a round easy with improved haste (he attacked 9 times and hit 8 missed on a critical miss) and tensers, and sometimes he can go two or three rounds without getting a single critical miss (thus hitting 9 out of nine times).

So I think that the real damage kensai would cause would be 1/3 up to 2/5 (believe me, he will still miss quite often) of those values calculated above....

You dont have a clue what you are talking about here at all.
All the above information Paul has stated are not what you think or he thinks but facts of the game engine and class. If you dont think this is so thats fine, but it doesent change the facts.

Kensai (Insane Analysis)

His attacks 5/2 means you get 5 attacks in 2 rounds, 2.5 attacks per round. So if he is only attacking once in a round it is possible he is missing the other 1.5 times.
TACH0
What in the world is TACHO it sounds like something you get from taco bell.
You mean THACO, An acronym that stands for To Hit Armor Class O.

I recon that dice rolls are somewhat harsh for the player parties... but who knows?

I know, and I have no clue what you are talking about here.
Let me explain how it works.
When a player (or monster) attempts to hit something, a dice is rolled (called a to-hit roll) to determine if he can hit it or not.
If the number rolled is higher than his THACO (not TACHO) minus the AC of the target, the hit is applied.
Since a lvl 18 kensai can easily have a -14 THACO (not TACHO) and the lowest AC in the game (used by monsters)is -12, the kensai with this thaco will only miss on critical misses.
Critical misses are when a 1 is rolled.
Critical Hits are when a 20 is rolled and do double damage.
I hope that clears things up for you.

Mostly the same as celestial fury. But if you put ++ in 2 Handed Weapon Style, you get +1 bonus to damage. If you have Soul Reaver or Warblade, the average roll will improve to 6.5 and to damage will improve by 1.Originally posted by The Outsider:

At level 19, Kensai has THACO of -14 (main) and -11 (off). According to KensaiRyu, the lowest AC in the game is -11. So, Kensai will only misses on a critical miss.
Single: damage/round: 0.1(2*85.75) + 0.85(85.75) = 90.0375
Dual: damage/round: 0.05(2*104.75) + 0.90(104.75) = 104.75
That is without using Kai or any other enhancement.
