how to increase blocking skill?
hello, I jus started playing morrowind about 3 weeks ago when i first bought it.... Im trying to increase my blocking skill, I have bought many armor including shields and have engaged in many battles... However, my blocking progress bar remains at 0... What can i do to increase my blocking (or if it is possible how can i block)????
The best that ever did it
training is the fastest way. If you want to actually fight for it, go find a rat or something small and easy to kill. Hold down the hit key, DO NOT RELEASE. This will raise your shield and weapon. Leave it up, and face the shield towards your opponent. It will hit the shield. When your health gets low, kill it, rest, and find another one. This is boring as hell and takes a long time. Besides that, usually it is automatic to block some hits during a battle. Hope this helps.

Well, i haven' t patched a lot, rather almost never (i hate changing horses while crossing the river ), however i have had no problem with it.
First, wear it. If you wish just to develop block skill, remain in the neutral mode - neither in the fighting nor casting, just neutral. If you look 3rd person view you'd see the shield is here and used. Of course, it's impossible to develop Block only (save at the trainer), your armor (or unarmored) skill will be engaged sa well. As soon as you're tired or badly wounded without fast healing availble, kill or retreat to return later. The same receipe helps also for any type of armor or unarmored. If you wish to work on armor skill and leave block laying, just equip a shield first and then 2-handed weapon (if you wouldn't have the shield, the unarmord skill will be engaged in some degree). However, while you're in neutral stance the block skill will be still engaged, to avoid it you should stand in the fighting stance ("F"). 3rd person view shows it all prety well.
