Kensai VS Demogorgon?

Played through the Watcher's Keep yesterday starting at lvl 18 with my solo Kensai (ended up at lvl 32

). I beat the seal guardians on the fifth level with some minor difficulties but now I'm facing the Imprisoned One. Thing is I can't seem to harm him, don't know if it's Minor globe of invulnerability or something else, but running around and waiting for it to pass doesn't seem to work either.

Wondering if there's a way for a pure solo fighter to break those protections, a guide mentioned a staff of spell striking but I can't equip those.

If i'm not mistaken normal weapons can hit him (it's been a while since i got there)
What weapons are you using?

Staff of the Ram +4. But I do not get any "Weapon ineffective" messages, I just don't damage him when I hit.

you need to use kelben's whip, but obviously you dont have it. I dont know how long his spell protection lasts. For some reason, his spell protection prevents weapon damage.

I took on Demogorgon about 2 days ago. The first 3 or 4 tries I just couldn't beat him.

I threw al the spells I got at him...... but he just wouldn't get seriously injured (believe me, I did send like 1 planater, 1deva, alot of Mordekains Swords, many spellsprotectionremovals, alot of ABHW'ings and some cleric spells. He just wouldn't die.

So I tried hitting him with normal weapons. This worked

He got down faster and with the wands of spellstriking (yes you can find AT LEAST 1 at WK)...he died even faster.
(ohh yeah.... the HLA Hardiness can save lives!)

Or if you want to remove his spell-protections: use the Staff of the Magi (dispells each hit)......this staff can be found at the Twisted Ruin in the docksdistrict of Atkathla

As a fighter, I can't use Khelbens Whip or Staff of the Magi or anything else related to spells and magic.

Does this mean I'm screwed VS the Demogorgon? I certainly can't wait for his spell protections to fade away, I can run from both him and his minions all day if I had to, but that demon keeps throwing holding spells at me.

Try using celestial fury, it can stun him. Then u just go on until u can hit him. It sound as if he has a stoneskin on and there4 u cannot hit him.

Also try prot from magicand put it on him. That way he cannot cast any spells. It wastes one scroll though if u don't use simacrum.

Otherwise keep trying and as soon as you hit hm once u should be fine.

Well he´s a frickin ´ard one, isn´t he?
The frustrating part is when you get him to near death and one of the elephant-thingies slaughters ya... gotta admire his servants, ay? I remember him getting outside of WK and me using the seal scroll, getting the xp for that and then kill gorgy outside, doubling the xp.
Don´t know how he got out, though...?

walked in (into WK), attacked him, whoops too hard, walked out. Did this a couple of times...

He probably followed u through the door as he was mad at u. Mosters r known to do that. Have to check it out when I go there next time

Hmm, didn't know they follow through portals. Never knew that. I only thought through stairs and doors, and some other places. I have to check this out and see if I can turn it into an advantage.

the wand of spell striking set to breach is supposedly one of the few ways to take down a wes weimer kurosian and undead sola...they love using stacked spell immunites, force cast, so breach, dispell, remove all fail to remove his prot magic weps...crappy spell immunity abby...

those wands are to be collected and hoarded like gold....

recharge them, and they will save major butt...

@User Can the wand be used by non-mages/sorc/thieves? If that's so, then DG should be much easier to be dealt with.

But there is an item that casts some kind of spell removal and can be used by fighters... I remember both Minsc and Sarevok using it in one of my games... I think it was some kind of wand or rod... If only I could remember its name too

Found it!
It's the Rod of Reversal. It casts Ruby Ray of Reversal and can be used by fighters, rangers and paladins.
It can be found... heh... somewhere in ToB
