Hello all who read this thread.
I was able to lead the male Remorhaz to the Queen Remorhaz, thereby triggering the removal of the ice glacier blockade.
How do I charm/train the Remorhaz (to burrow, hide, attack etc.)¿
My guess is the room with the spidee familiar of Zack GooseBerry (correct the name if wrong) where there are a couple of deers. U take a non-MONK char and fist the deer until it collapses (status: almost dead). Then I have a druid with animal empathy which can charm the deer.
Many thanks in advance¡¡

Uh. Yeah.
I just killed the queen too.
Very clever about the deer. I hope it works.
What are they supposed to do when they get together? I will definitely re play that section if there's a plot segment that I missed.
The hack and slash method works just fine here.
That's: *hack* *slash* *hack* *slash* - there like that.

I think I know what he means, given a lifelong habit of logical jumps and fill-in-the-blanks. Still, he's using the Druid's Animal Empathy power, and I've never even bothered with that, so I can't help.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I tried animal empathy on some wolves. They bit me.
The Female Remoraz is a tough fight. One of the first difficult ones in the game.
I think the trick is to use all your spells etc. to defeat it.
Of course a few deer would work well as decoys to draw the remoraz' fire. So would some summoned creatures.

I think that was the first plot related fight where I had to re load more than once in order to win. Usually once the suprise element is gone, the second attempt is easy. My party is failry weak from a peircing bludgeoning stand point. We need to cast lots of spells to get through a battle.
Speaking of which... Is it me, or do I have more trouble fighitng the ramdom encounter wolves, spiders, etc than I do the real bad guys?

Its not just you, I think its the wolves tendency to catch you off gaurd, in open areas, and surrond you. It can be hard to keep the wolves away from weaker missle & spell slingers. The "real bad guys" are usually pretty predictable, and are fought in locations that often greatly favor one side or the other.

Yup. I know we can just beat the hell out of the remorhaz Queen. But....
If you lead a male remorhaz there (if you read "Oria's note"), you cause the Queen remorhaz to become "enchanted" towards the male remorhaz and both of them turn neutral (the blue circle). and for that you get 4950exp quest (there was a time when i got ~3700exp for doing the same thing...).
That leaves you to fight the remaining 2 Aurilite Stormsisters. Easier fight, less hp loss, and you get to slay the Queen remorhaz for a 3250exp monster kill... and of course its an easier fight with initiative to strike the queen and less damage taken:B
Since there is a script on taming/training the Remorhaz (you can teach it to fight, burrow), i believe it might have a link to the deers you find with Aocha. That's the first hint.
2nd supporting evidence to this quest can be found in "Oria's note" again which mentions '.. tame/train one of the remorhaz for protection.... remember to keep it well fed and rested..)
The 3rd hint lies with the deers. When you attempt to initiate a "talk" with any deer, its description says 'food for another larger beast' (somewhere on that line). This backs up the 2nd hint that the remorhaz needs to be well fed.
Final hint, after you led the male remorhaz to the Queen and that both have turned neutral, attack the male remorhaz (both hit and miss will do) and walk away. It will follow you until it reaches you.
I tried using animal empathy but it doesn't work cos the skill, likewise the spell "charm animal", works only on animals (wolves, winter wolves, polar bears, dogs, rats etc..). I tried it; it works. So i can't find any other spell in anywhere that could "charm" a remorhaz.
My 2¢ worth.
n.b i have a strong hunch that its gotta be leading the remorhaz to a mortally wounded deer (having fisted it) and probably slicing the deer. use a slashing/piercing weapon or even flaming oil (barbecued deer meat!!)
