I cannot defeat the vampiric wolves outside the temple. I've tried potions, spells everything. In my party I have
My PC a fighter
Khalid,
Jaheria
Branwyn
Imoen
Garrick.
I have +1 wpns for the first 4, and do a lot of damage to the thing, but I can't seem to kill it. Help please.
Vampiric Wolves
Vampiric Wolves
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.
So I just stood and listened.

**SPOILERS**
The first trick is to pick the wolves off one by one. Have Imoen hide in shadows and sneak up so that she can only see one wolf. Shoot it with an arrow and have her run back to the party. If you approach from the South, the first few wolves should be of the non-vampiric variety. Quick-save after every wolf is killed.
When just the Vampiric wolves are left (IIRC there are two of them), have the party go away and rest so that they are at full strength. (You may have to do this with some of the other wolves as well, depending on how damaged you are).
You are kind of light on mages (unless Imoen has been dualed?) so have Garrick cast haste on the entire party and have Jaheira and Branwen cast other buffing spells like Aid and Bless. Vampiric wolves cause paralysis so be ready to counteract that. It looks like you have a mostly Good or Neutral party so if anyone can cast Draw on Holy Might do so. It is important to do as much damage as quickly as possible.
Also have people equipped with missile weapons (+1 Arrows or +1 Sling Bullets are required) so that you can do some damage while the wolf is running towards you. I don't remember if they are particularly magic resistant so try casting lightning bolts or magic missiles from a distance. This might be a good way to attract their attention in the first place, if you can get someone to cast the spell without being seen (either hid in shadows or invisible).
Other than that, there is no particular trick. Just do as much damage as possible and try to limit the fight to one wolf at a time. It is a tough battle but it can be done.

That happens. You may want to wait until you are higher level or summon some monsters to help. They may not be able to hit the wolves, but at least they can serve as cannon fodder while your party does the real damage. Animate dead is a good spell for this, as are the wands of monster summoning.

I'm surprised that Hold Person worked on a vampiric wolf. It is only supposed to work on humanoids that are human-size or smaller.
I see one possible explanation. As seen using Infinity Explorer, a vampiric wolf is classified as race Human, class Mage, level 8. I don't know much about D&D monsters, but I didn't think they were human (or vampires).
As far as combat strategies go, I like to draw monsters into melee one by one. I also like to use spells such as Blindness on individual monsters and spells such as Grease, Web, and Stinking Cloud on groups of monsters to immobilize them. Hold Monster is also very effective if your Mage is able to cast it. Chromatic Orb also paralyzes targets st 7th Level.

Draw Upon Holy Might is an inate ability for your PC if your reputation is high enough. If it is low, I believe this is replaced by Vampiric Touch. Since his list included mostly good characters, I was assuming that at least one person would have this spell, and was suggesting that he use it.
I am not sure if evil clerics get this spell or not, but he didn't have any evil clerics in his listed party, so the point is moot.
BTW: I don't mind making a big deal out of this sort of thing. I'm always glad to explain what I mean. Usually I assume no one cares so I don't elaborate...
