So what do you guys think of the gesen bow? It has a slow animation but pierces stoneskin, and is +4. (Do Tansheron's Bow pierce stoneskin? Anyone can confirm this?). So should I keep the Tansheron's Bow after I get Gesen Bow? What's your opinions? :)

I think you should keep all of them just in case, if the enemies can be hit by +1 weapons then tuigan short bow does a lot more damage than gesen or tasheron because of it extra attack(I had 9 attacks when I was improved hasted, imagine that), but to answer your question, I think gesen does more damage than tasheron :) Not sure about stoneskin, been a while since I played my archer.

Is it better than Tansheron's Bow?

Depends on what you are trying to do with it. The Tuigan bow has 3 attacks/round so it is faster, but it is only +2 THACO. Tansheron's bow is +3 and creates its own ammunition, but only gets the standard 2 attacks per round.

the thaco of the bow adds to the ablity thaco of the user, so gesen adds 5 to archer thaco...

but the ability of the missile to hit target is thaco bonus of the missile, not bow...

so a arrow of piercing used on gesen will not hit demiliches, but without ammo will hit him....

so a tulgan with +3 arrows will hit things gesen with arrows of biting will NOT..biting arrows like all enchanted arrows without thaco bonuses counts as arrows +1,

but equipping arrows on gesen adds electrical damage to enchanted arrows, so biting arrows do poison and electrical damage....this is how gesen punches thru stone skin, bypasses it with electrical damage, causing spell disruption...

one special ability...the firetooth and gesen with plain unmagical arrows will punch thru protection from magical weapons, and still deliver the fire damage and electrical damage...mage killers....

my usual favorite is telemortis, for mazzy or minsc and firetooth for combination of heavy machine gun and light machine gun...firetooth with good archer does massive damage, using either non magical, mage killers, or +3 arrows for immune monsters, like golems, and bolts of biting for everyone else....
