Strategy/Story Tips for Solo F/T/M

Post by SKev »

Can anyone give me some strategy/story tips for going solo? I completed the game as a Monk (the best all around class IMHO) and took the time to do nearly all the side quests (but somehow screwed up my Jaheira romance because she never got the Harper Pin), so I sort-of know what the game holds. I want to know what I can do to make my solo game as rich as possible. Do I need to keep Imoen until I get out of the Dungeon? Will I see her again? What about Minsc and Jaheira? Should I pick up the NPCs one at a time, complete their mini-quests and send them on their way or should I just stick to the main story line? As a F/T/M, which stronghold should I take? Is there any way to complete the Planar Sphere quest (Mage Stronghold) without dragging Valygar along? Which quests should be completed (to build XP) before attempting to take on any of the dragons?

Thanks in advance!

just tell imoen to split up and meet on the surface and thats exactly what will happen...
same for the other characters in irenicus dungeon, they go to locations on the surface in the city.

If you truly want to solo...you must kick imoen out immediately. Release Jahaira and minsc but kick them out immediately.

You can complete the planar sphere quest by having valygar follow you to the sphere. Once its open kick him out.

In order to get all three strongholds you have to do them in this order.

Fighter stronghold: refuse nalia's offer to take it. She will say that she will wait for you to change your mind.
Thief stronghold: Take it.
Mage stronghold: Refuse to take the necromancer outside and he will give you the strong hold.

then go back to nalia and tell her you accept the stronghold.

although...im not sure why you want 3 strongholds...

@TheKillerMachine

if you're playing evil then yes..that would be an option. If you're playing good it would be nice to just tell him "hey thanks for opening the door btw...i think you're too weak to do anything for me bubye"
