Dead end in the Chamber of Immolation?

Please help!!! I am stuck in this last monk chamber. Even though I manage to avoid the flame strikes those two monks kick my barbarian butt way too efficiently, so every time I end up being dead within a minute. How did you guys sirvive?!

Throughout the Monks' Challenge, I had the best results with a druid. I shapechanged into my most powerful form (I belive it was a polar bear at that time) to attack, and could still change back and heal if I had to. Elemental/fire protection spells help too, if you can cast them in time.

I used my warrior for all but the last, where I used a druid. Summoning and lots of pausing, to move out of the way of oncoming fire bursts.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just don't have a druid in my party. What am I to do?
I am really frustrated. I think all this "puzzle" is rather stupid. I personally did not have any fun solving it. Just wanted to get over with yet another annoying obstacle. Same applies to the battle squares in the Ice Temple. Long and pointless. The rewards were totally worthless. But at least you did not have to finish all battles to go ahead (I lost patience after 4 rank). I really like the game but now I am about to give up and play something else. I wonder how many people really enjoyed that monk challenge. I hate these monks now, so if I ever get a chance to win, I will probaly kill them all.

Use your cleric. Summon a fire elemental cast sanctuary on your self and avoid the fire. Even just one fire elemental can kill both monks on a normal day.

Thanks, I will do that next time. This time I have just used the "easy game" setting (have never done that before!). It was pathetic and sort of cheating but I really hated this chamber and since I don't have much time to play lately (alas!) I could not afford wasting my precious gaming time on this stupid chamber. Thank you anyway. It is interesting that a fire elemental could damage those guys. They looked pretty much resistant to fire. My cleric summonned some other tough monsters but they did not do much damage to the monks. I did not think of elementals.
