Best Ranger Armor?

what is the best Ranger armor, give me something to strive for thanx

IMHO the Shadow Dragon Armour and the Night's Gift+5 are great armour for a Ranger if you want the ability to hide in shadows.If you are using the Shadow Dragon Armour,you will still be able to wear rings that give + to your stats(ie.ring of protection +1).

I used a studded leather armor +2, until I got shadow dragon armour

I used that 1 for the rest of the game.

thanx a ton, seems wierd that they dont have any elf ranger armor specifically for my elf ranger, and its wierd how he cant wear elven chain too, oh well, thanx for the responses!

I found that I could not wear a ring of protection +1 or cloak of protection +1 with the shadow dragon armor (although I can wear other AC-enhancing items such as the Ring of Gaxx, the ring of earth elemental control and the Cloak of the Sewers). Same thing with the red dragon armor.

Yes because shadow dragon armor is considered magical so you cant waer ring of prot +2 yata yata. But you can wear ring of gaxx. I now forget about leather armor but I Think there is some studded leather armor of thorns +6 which isnt bad. I dont remember the AC though.

That would be AC 1.

There's also another +6 studded leather that acts like Boots of Speed as well. Might be better than the Thorns, since it frees up your boots slot and the Thorns don't do much anyway (besides being +6).

i have minsc in white dragon scale...ac -2... it doesn't seem to negate any ranger abilities...

This means that my ranger can sneak up on the enemy, position himself, and then open up the action with a cone of cold. He then prepares the opposition with the Answerer/Angurvadal while Minsc and Anomen come rushing in, wielding the Axe of the Unyielding and the Flail of Ages, respectively. Meanwhile, Imoen and Aerie give missile/spell support...

white dragon armour won't screw up thief abilities either.

the armour of thorns is nice too.
