Now I really have a problem! (still Kuroisan)

Post by JSPCHIEF »

Ok..after avoiding Kuroisan the first time I fought him, I came back later and met him again. I was in no condition to fight him (just fought Demogorgan) so I ran for the thieves guild. Sola and Korgy got chunked on the way and in go my chars just as I hear "you must gather your party blah, blah, blah". O CRAP!!! I just auto-saved my chunked NPCs. My last q-save was before the Demogorgan and with an error in how I wanted to play out the whole Odren thing. So now I am more screwed than a winecork. Is there any way to retrieve my previous Auto-save? Any other solutions? I really don't want to go way back in the game to remedy this. :(

Ouch. :(

No, there is no way to restore your auto-save once it gets over-written. The only option is to CLUA Korgan and Solaufein back into your auto-saved game, or go back and fight the big D.

If you were in the middle of a romance with S, you might have to mess around with the variables in Shadow Keeper.

Do you mean that you did not save after defeating the Demogorgon?
And that you didn't even rest and cure?
With Kuriosan still alive and looking for you?

Yea...just wanted to celebrate Demo victory with a cold pilsner from the Sea's Bounty and sleep in my own bed at my Thieves guild. Guess I got ahead of my self. DOH!

Ok... now for something completely different. Since I have to go back and fight the Demogorgan again, and can't use the ol' spike trap cheese, any suggestions? I have installed Sola Mod so I don't know if that includes Imp. Demo, but he seems much tougher this time around. I did search and none of the methods mentioned seemed to come close to working.

You won the fight one time already, correct?
So there's no reason to go through it again, imho.
You just lost a save. If you don't want to punish yourself for it, I would suggest to do the following:
- download Weimers' new "Improved tactical encounters" pack (now it's separated from the Sola mod)
- Install and then uninstall Improved Demogorgon alone ;) (tricky, isn't it?)
- Kill the (now unimproved) Demogrgon. (You should be able to, aren't you?). Then *REST AND SAVE*, please ;)
- Do preparations and go to kill that Kuriosan guy, before he catches you off guard again (this is optional.... just my advice)
- Reinstall Improved Demogorgon if you like to.

Ask if you need clarifications!

Who's in your party, and what levels are they? If you completed the entire watcher's keep, then you should have enough xp to wack the D's behind. :D

Right now I have Korgan (24), Keldorn (22), Edwin (22), Anomen (25/7), Sola (17/16), and my Swash (30). These guys are all very high lvl and I rarely have much problem in battles. I used Spike Trap cheese :D to kill him last time, but my save is from a time when I talked to him, left, and came back. So I am unable to go to the spawn area without spawing him. Keep in mind this is Improved Demo.

after you talked to him, if a party member goes too close to trigger point demo will spawn....

but, a image will not trigger...

hahahahhahahahahhahaha..............................................

use a project image scroll or helm of villy, and load up with 20 spike traps...hehehehhehehehehhe.......

well, heck, you knew any suggestion from me would involve cheese...

am having fun fun fun with wes smarter mages, boy, are they smart...and cheat a lot...so cheesying them is so much more satisfying... :p ;)

WHAT THE... !?!?

You mean you were able to let Kuroisan "chunk" a level 24 Korgan and a level 17/16 Sola?

(sorry but... what were you thinking about, dude?)
(and...what are you doing hanging around in SoA still with such levels if I may ask?) ;) :)

If I had a 17/16 Sola, he could have killed Kuroisan by himself alone!
(Well, he almost did it anyway)

Kuroisan is only 13/14 :p You don't even need cheese to beat him.

yes you do...even bun bun had problems due to acid revenge...until i figured out spell immunity conjuration will give you immunity to acid, without needing the spell...hehhehehheh...acid arrow is a conjuration spell....

kuro is simple to beat using anti sola strategy, use ring of ram, and switch to a diff map location...the ai is very vulnerable to that, wait for stacked spell immunities to wear off, and slice and dice...

depends on reward...here is a simple and nasty trick...have sola cast spell immunity conjuration, this makes him immune to acid arrows..hehhehe, and moonbeam him to death...with moonblade, its trickier, supposedly ruby ray and spell strike work, but i never got it to work...

possibly due to the fact i moved clck26.itm file from the override directory, so i got the old bounce cloak???? may have pooched myself...oh well, i love the old bounce cloak, and even though it may have bounced my breach and spell strike, its just too fun to give up...sigh, greed does it to me again... :(

@User, ah, that's what I did with my fighter mage/kensai mages. However, I used protection from acid to lessen the damage if I wasn't mage. Also, inquisitor's dispell absolutely kills Kuroisan. :p It makes the fight so easy. :D

kuro uses prot from magic weps, and spell immunity abby, so the dispell wont work, thats why wes advises ruby ray and spell strike, as they are abjuration AND alteration spells....

but will try inquisitor dispell...

one time i cowed him to badly hurt....

summon cow, "scrlzz" in a spell trigger....sola did it, was funny...
hahhahahahhahahhah

actually is a great and very powerful spell, think spell sequenced ring of ram...

does wild surge a lot... :D

Yea..my guys are plenty powerful, I was just unprepared for a fight after the demo battle (I wasn't thinking :p ). I'm still in SOA because I haven't finished "everything". I just sprinkle in the watchers Keep for variety.

I forgot, I always wait 14 rounds for the immunity to wear off :) it's not a intelligent strategy but it works.

thats exactly how i do it, buddy...

kuro and sola, you move out of range and wait, and then they become mortal...hey, think about how incredibly annoyed you'd be if someone used the same trick on you in multiplayer...i love spell immunity abby.....

got the docks lich in two rounds using spell immunity abby, move in, use mondo inquisitor dispells, and blew all her protections in one go..hehehhe...

I posted this on another board but thought it would apply to this thread as well

There are fifty ways to leave your lover, here are two ways to kill Kuraisan :D

Method One

As soon as I see him I wait till he starts to cast and then the party all drink a potion of invisibility. Leave the area as a cloud kill is on its way

Have your mage run far away and start sending in the summons. The summons keep him around and wear him down. ( I love an endless line of fire elementals on their way to fight him its sort of like the scene with Mickey mouse as the soccer’s apprentice )

1 a) He kills the summons but it keeps him busy (he seems to really hate Mordys magical swords :) ) Breach from max distance, run out of sight, he will be occupied with the summons, wait and breach again. Do this a few times. Then a full out attack wipes all 100+ Hp out.

1b) send in the summons a couple at a time, he kills them off, wait till the PMW wears off send in a new group of summons. He buffs up the PMW again, do this a few times.
Then a full out attack wipes all 100+ Hp out.

Method Two

I like to kill him quick with the Rod of power (invisibility, start one mage on a Pierce magic spell then when the mage is ¾ done casting use another mage to cast the rods lightning bolt of paralyzation. Pierce and paralyze in that order bang bang

The poor bugger is frozen, breach and bash to your hearts content (it surprises me how many Breach/Pearce spells it takes to make him vulnerable) and all the time you are doing this he mutters that “this is not a good day”…… :D :D :D )

I like this quick freeze and kill method best that way I get a bunch of PMW scrolls...very cool
