Gothic & Arx Fatalis

Post by Mr Sleep »

Having recently dug out my copy of Gothic that has been languishing on a shelf after cruelly being superseeded by the inferior Morrowind I wondered why there isn't a section on gamebanshee for it. So is there any interest from other members?

Also Arx Fatalis - at least I think that is it's name. I haven't played it yet but it is supposed to be Morrowind esque stuff.

Don't we have many forums as it is?

I think Buck should keep a maximum number of forums. I don't know if that includes these two or if he should lose some that are not used. He'll know best.

Also, to me: more forums = more broadband needed.
But I'm not really into that kind of stuff so I'm note sure about that.

About Gothic and Arx Fatalis, I don't need those forums.
But thats just me.

My 2 cents. :)

Gothic is going to be followed by a sequel at some point, so it would be a nice segway, I'm easy about it, it was just a thought.

Gothic is supposed to be a very impressive game.
I haven't played it myself, but perpaps 2 will be a big succes.
The forum could be handy. You'r absolutly right about that.

I'm not sure about Axe Fatalis though.
I saw some screenshots and read a review and I'm not really impressed.

But I'm was also thinking about Buck's broadband "problems".
Though I don't know much about it, I thought that everytime the main page loads; it loads every forum.
That's why I was thinking about a maximum of forums to keep the mb's down a bitt.

But I'm just thinking out loud here. :)

Neither am I, but I wondered if anyone heard anything different about it.

You mean bandwidth. :)

Gothic has a very steep learning curve but once you get into it, it's great.

Arx Fatalis is very good as far as i could tell from the demo. I played the demo some months ago and preordered it same day :D . It's like an Ultima Underworld style, with much more better graphics and an amazing interactivity. The game was released yesterday for rest of Europe(was released at Germany some time now).
I will let you know more when i actually play the real game. :)

It's really not much of a server/bandwidth issue on whether or not to add additional forums. I have no problem adding forums for Gothic/Gothic 2/Arx Fatalis, *if* they get some usage. If there is a demand for them, I will create them.

You mean segue. :)

There are so many unused forums scattered around, I mean for example I know quite a lot about Fallout and Fallout 2, but since there's no use of the forums I barely ever check them. And when I do, I find that there's been one thread in the past month that I could have made a contribution to, but I missed it. What I think would be a better idea is for the less-talked about games to make just one big forum for them all, but you have to clearly state the name in the thread title. This way, there would be less forums to check, and people who are into one RPG might get drawn in to another...

Just a thought...

Like a "Other games" forum?
Hmm, not a bad idea actually.
