What now?
I killed the big baddy and the gods are no longer immortal. I'm getting tribunal but till then what/where do I go from here. It seems that effectivly there isn't anything new to do except kill monsters over and over. can anyone give me some ideas please? thank you in advance

Become Arcmaster in The Fighter's Guild, The Mage's Guild and Theif's Guild, although you can't become Arcmaster in The Fighter's Guild AND Theif's Guild.
If you Haven't yet chosen a House. It would be good to do that.

Play as a vamp on your second time through! Do a more thorough job exploring - I couldn't believe how many areas I missed the first time I played.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

Also the head of the mages guild in Balmora is basically bad as well. Avoid most of her quests as they are just personal vendettas.

You can also do the Grand Tour, travelling the length and breadth of the land without regard to quests. Lots to do.
