What spell did you use?
You need to use the 6. lvl. spell "heal", not just something like "cure light wounds".

Actually, you just have to heal it up to full health. If you think you can get that with numerous cure light wounds, then it's up to you, but it simply won't be as effective. Try a few of the stronger spells, like cure medium wounds or cure serious wounds, that should do the job. Heal isn't neccesary, but since it heals to full health with one spell, it does this one job rather fast.

P.S.: As a last suggestion, turn off party AI until it's fully healed, and stop all actions from the party, otherwise their hits might just make all your healings useless.

I always used my Bhaal-ability "Cure light wounds", I had to wait 2 secs or so, then it died!

When I first entered the shrine, I cast a medium heal on it, and Amaunator appeared.

I too used my Bhaal-given Cure Light Wounds and it worked just fine.

Same here. Make sure you're not attacking the Empathic Manifestation (turn off the party AI), and if you've got Keldorn and it targets him, make sure he does not have Hallowed Redeemer equipped.

I used Anomens usual cleric Cure light wounds, and it also worked fine. Good luck!

Well, than ignore the second post in this thread.
Perhaps "cure light wounds" didn't work for me because I beat the thing sensless first.

My first time through I had the same experience as Dimensional. I inflicted over 300 hit points of damage before trying cure light wounds (with Jahiera) and .... it worked.

If you mean the official patch, yes it was after the patch and I hit him constantly and they suddenly it dawned on me that I should cast a CLW, so I let Anomen do this without withdrawing the other characters, and it worked perfectly.
