Where is the Matron Mother??

I got my cover blown in the drow city so I commenced killing everybody. I got the egg but when I went to leave, I was told that the city was locked down. How do I get out of here? Do I have to kill the Matron Mother or is there another exit??

The Matron Mother is in the Temple in the North-West. If you can't find a way in there to kill her, you could be in jeopardy. It seems odd that they would allow this to happen on an event as probable as loosing your illusion though.
