Geas issues
I'm running into some curious anomalies in resolving the Geas quest, and I'm hoping someone may have some insights into it. I was able to get half the antidote from Lothander. I then went to Marek for the other half. Of course I had to kill him for it. I then discovered that only one character had the antidote. So I drank and passed it around. Oddly enough, the bottle contained ten swallows. However, when my main character took the first swallow I got 675 exps. And that was it. No more for any other characters.
Because the illness passed I didn't think much more about it, though OI regretted not getting those 10,000 exps. But, I late went to the second floor of the Blade and Stars and found Lothander standing there again. He asked me if I had the cure scroll, and I could only tell him I didn't.
What's this all about? Does an entry appear in my journal when I complete the quest?

You get the 10,000 exp for killing Marek, not for drinking the antidote
Highlight for spoiler:
Re the scroll for Lothander - did you speak with the Seer? If you asked the right question she would have told you what you need to do. In short, speak with Jalantha at the Water Queen House. She will ask you to recover a Tome of Understanding, for which she will trade the scroll. I actually decided to keep the Tome and pick pocket the scroll

Marek's potion of antidote is not something you have to drink to be cured; completing the quest is enough to get rid of the poison. What it is is a super-antidote - a normal Antidote Potion with 10 uses...

Thank you for your insights. I must confess to (and simultaneously warn against) careless play. I play with the smallest possible dialogue screen. During a later combat with Marek for the purpose of trying to get those 10000 exp's I noticed that they suddenly appeared in the dialogue screen when Marek was killed, but quickly rolled out of sight as other actions were displayed.
You put it well and succinctly when you wrote that the 10000 exps are for killing Marek, and not necessarily for curing the Geas.

Yes, I did. Everything seems to be going swimmingly. So I regard the quest as neat and complete.
The only thing that continues to bother me is that now and then I'll do back to the second floor of the Blade and Stars, only to find that the area is still blanked-out as though I'd never been there before. As I proceed into the room I find Lothander, who asks me if I brought him his cure. I have no idea what this is all about. I know I've killed Marek and taken the antidote. Besides, I haven't gotten sick or dropped dead yet.
Still, I'm careful to save games under two different names. Just in case.
I'm disappointed with Dynaheir's performance so far. I mean, she's a level 7 invoker and still hasn't memorized a level 5 spell. I remember having Edwin in my group once before, and he was a real asset with his cloudkill abilities. I left him cooling his heels somewhere in Berengost, and I'm giving serious thought to going back and getting him.

I'm going to have to backtrack a bit to make sure I got that scroll. I presumed I have to have it in order to make the cure work, regardless of whether or hot I kill Marek. I know that when I first encountered this strangeness I went to the Water Queen's house to make sure I hadn't overlooked it. At that time she didn't pick up on the scroll quest conversation string, so I presumed it was because I'd already given Lothander the scroll. I'll see.
My apologies for introducing another subject in this string: Dynaheir vs. Edwin. I'm going to look if one already exists.

highlight for SPOILER
In order to get the scroll from the Water Quenn just say hat you have teh book but will give it to her after you get the scroll. Then when you have teh scroll what is teh point of giving up an extra point in wisdom? SO just say that you don't have it after all and that you tricked her. She will attack you kill her and get 10k exp and have both scroll and tome and exp That's the way I always do it....

That's what I like about it - 10 potions for the weight of one. Sell and buy it back to "recharge" it.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
