A mystery.... "Pool of Forgetfulness"

Post by cjdevito »

Was wandering around aimlessly enjoying the blue skies near ghostgate when I stumbled across a cavern just east of ghostgate itself (and right at the ghostfence line, not sure if one could get to it with the fence active) called Sharapli. Decided to check it out....

Standard sixth house cavern, it looks like. Kinda small. Then I notice that one of the lava chambers has a walkway leading to a passage lower down one of it's sides. I enter and face a dremora lord. Walking past his corpse, I find.....

Image

The Pool of Forgetfullness.
Clicking on it does nothing. I know of no quest involving it. I even dug out my old hint guide and checked it..... no mention of the Pool. Has anyone else seen this or figured it out?

[Edit: I'm -pretty- sure this isn't from a mod. Few of the mods I run add any extra dungeons or quests, and I -think- I know all of those.]

I just fired up the construction kit to take a look.... it doesn't do anything, there's no script attached to it. Wonder if it was part of a quest that was scrapped, and they left the physical item in?

Would make for an interesting mod, at any rate :)

That is odd. I'll have to go have a look for it...

I notice you're wearing High Ordinator Armour, so could it not be something to do with Tribunal that hasn't been covered in the few guides so far?

Perhaps you had a quest to visit the pool, and forgot what the quest was as soon as you dipped in it. :p

I don't -think- so. So far as I know, with the exception of the dark brotherhood attacks and the two NPCs in ebonheart, all of tribunal occurs within mournhold exclusively.

It's not Tribunal.

I ran into that pool before i loaded Tribunal. Never figured out any use for it either.

Maybe somebody should make a mod for a quest for that pool. Like maybe some part of your past, and when you drink from the pool you regain you get a quest to regain your memory or something...

Heh. That sword is one of the two big rewards from finishing Tribunal. It flames quite nicely, even providing more light then a torch.

So... it's like 6 years later. and I just had something to add.

I went to the pool of forgetfulness, didn't get it to do anything. Searched the internets for it, which is how I found this trhead... and when I was leaving the cave I checked my map, and the entrance was blacked out like I never explored it. guess I "forgot" where the entrance was....
