I have the growing feeling I'm in a cat-and-mouse game, playing both ends against the middle. Haven't overly worried about it so far, thinking I'm doing what's neccesary to advance the plot and will sort it out down the road.
However, the Royal Guard guy just gave me a quest which I feel very uncomfortable with. I accepted but am having second thoughts. I've done the initial legwork but I'm not so far advanced that I can't go back and refuse it.
I'm just wondering if taking the "Sorry, not interested" option on this particular quest will screw things up and put me on this guy's bad side. I feel I've seen enough now to have a pretty clear idea of what it is I want to accomplish but I hate the thought of innocent people being hurt along the way.
Edit: I have gone back and chose not to discuss that topic at all, so didn't have to refuse the quest. The topic is still in the dialog tree if I want to persue it in the future.
