Vampire Troubles

Hi I'm having some trouble with vampires in Chapter 3. They ambushed me in the street, and took out Aerie. I try to rezz her in the temple, but no go, what's going on here ? Is this a possible bug ? Also, most my chars are level 10, am I ready to fightf or Celestial Fury loot ?
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter
