Funky stuff going on in Windspear hills...glitch?

Post by Buster2741 »

Okay...I'm in Lord Jierdan Firkraag castle...right near where you find Samia for the first time. Right below her there's a door that leads to 2 dread wolves, 2 wolfweres and a greater wolfwere. Umm...how do I kill the greater wolfwere? I'd like sit there and hit it a zillion times...and it would say on the bottom of the screen that I'm dealing damage to it...but whenever I hold the mouse on him, it says that he's uninjured. It's like he's a super wolf or something. Any suggestions?

Because the greater Wolfweres regenerate hp at a pretty fast rate you have to bring out as much brute force as you can and kill it fast or it will keep on regenerating and going back to "uninjured" status....so as much damage as you can inflict on it during a brief period of time....that should do the job.

it's no glitch at all, try using this:
-haste or better improved haste all your chars (not necessarily only your meleers)
-try any direct damage w/o save like Ring of the Ram etc.
-or try lower resistance and direct damage (magic missile)
-use lots some pets to additional damage (if you have room to)
-at least you should be able to put a 100damage into his snout in 1 round
good luck

My first time through in act II I couldn't do it for the life of me. I just used a group invisibility spell and walked on by (Jahiera has a spell called pixie dust that works, and mages also have a group invis spell)

oh that group invisibility spell (actually mass invisibility) is level 7, so I doubt Buster2741 has that one, does he? ok ok Improved haste is also level 6 but normal haste will work...
...btw. when you finally succeed on this I bet you're going nuts for the little XP you'll get...

Hmmm, I didn't know many of you didn't notice this. Since greater wolfwere is a regenerating creature like troll, the method is quite the same. You need fire or acid, I'm not sure which. I had Minsc duel-wielding frostreaver and stonefire, and every greater wolfwere dies out pretty quick. I didn't use haste or pets or anything, just Minsc.
