Request Quest advice with Tactics Mod Installed..

Post by Indra »

Hello all...I'm currently playing a game with the Tactics Mod installed (installed everything but Kuroisan) ..with currently a 3 member party..

1) My Char (F/M/T) (11/11/12)
2) Jan (11/13)
3) Viconia (14)

I plan to take Korgan in my team, but I'm trying to get my char and Jan to lvl12 Mage and Viconia to Lvl15 Cleric, so would like to complete as many quests as possible before adding an extra member. I was wondering which of these quests were possible for my party on Core, with Tactics mod installed:

1) De'Arnise Keep
2) Astral Prison
3) Planar Sphere
4) Umar Hills (I've already defeated the Illusionist)
5) Unseeing Eye

I'm not even including Windspear Hills as that *definitely* requires Korgan. I've also discovered a bug while fighting Spirit Trolls in the Druid Grove. The Spririt trolls do not die when killed. The health indicator says it's dead, and they sometimes flop down on the ground, but they get right back up after a while uninjured. They only seem to dissapear if you leave their Line of Sight while they're "dead". Is there a way to fix this?
I think I'll be seeing a lot of them in De'Arnise Keep..Thanks in Advance..

5) Unseeing Eye

The only quest that was really altered in the Tactics mod is De'Arnise Keep with the much toughened up Torgal. He's much tougher now and accompanied by 4-5 spirit trolls and 2 snake mages. Remember that Tactics mod will let you always face the toughest possible level based encounters. You should be prepared to fight at least 2 groups of 3 Beholders + 2 Gauths when you do the Unseeing Eye. The Shadow dragon in Umar Hills was slightly improved, he has the ability to drain you of levels (don't know if he always did).

I think all of them should really be doable with the party you have, especially on core rules.

he always did...

dearnise is tougher, but using a fully charged wand of cloudkill and web cheese works, even in the final battle...
