I am thinking about customizing my own warrior and remove the repair function and put in alchemy for some quick leveling. However will this affect the way I receive my level up results, ie the chances I get X4 to strength or intelligence. What is this on based is it just completely random or is it focused on your skills ? Sometimes when you level up you can get a nice bonus but how does this work etc.
Also something else when going to caldera in the tower there is a alchemy set you can take will this affect the game in any way ?

Each skill is tied to a stat (for example, long blade = strength). Were you to raise a point of longblade between levels, you'd get a strength bonus to your level up points. The amount of the bonus depends on how many points of skills tied to that stat you raise. Raise 10 points of skills tied to strength (and they don't all have to be in the same skill; raise long blade by 4 and blunt weapon (also strength) by 6, and it totals 10) and you'll get the best available bonus for that stat, x5.
You can take that alchemy set without problems. OTOH, you -are- stealing it so if a guard ever stops you to make you pay a fine, you'll loose them. Useful in the early game, but later on you're really going to want to own everything you carry.
