Lost Key

Post by CatStarr »

How do I get into the secret door behind the Shadow Thieves without the key? I had it and it must have been on a character that either got blown up or left. Anyway..I dont have it anymore. What do I do?

Thanks

You can cheat it in or use Shadowkeeper to put it in your inventory. (The code is MISC4S.)
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Lost Items are the bane of this game. The one and only thing that pisses me off about it. Anyways, I create a new savegame after each quest I complete, seeing as how special quest items that can get lost easily are only used in that specific quest. That way if you screw up bad, you can reload and not have to cheat or work really hard to get back to where you were. Oh, by the way, when I got my stronghold (Planar Sphere) I just dump all of the no longer used keys and artifact items (Gesen Bow Shaft and such)in the trunks in there for later use. If you don't have a stronghold, just remember the place you dumped all. Hope it helps a little.

Welcome Catstarr AND Da'Zareal,

A cautionary note: Some areas reset during the game so putting all your stuff there is not a good idea (e.g.) all the containers in Nalia's Keep reset once you kill the boss and leave.

I use a table in Waukeen's Promenade (just above the Adventure Mart) because it never resets and I know I'm going back there.

Have you gotten SK to work? Sorry I can't help you with that. - Curdis

Go to the directory where you installed BG2, open the file call baldur.ini, add in Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options]. Save and close, load your savegame, and press CTRL + SPACE, type in CLUAConsole:CreateItem("misc4s")

Hi CatStarr.

Since you've lost the key, why don't you just use the front door of the Shadows Thieves' Guild? The guard will say you're welcome to enter. :)

This is the secret door in the back that has a special lock on it. I am already in the front door. But thanks for replying.
